The story so far:
She started to stir around the crack of ten, but didn't fully come to till ten-thirty. She moaned and unworshipfully exhaled "Oh, God."
"Did you get the number of that truck?" chuckled Adam.
"Not funny," Teagan groaned.
"Neither is your snoring." he added. "What do you take in your coffee?"
"I don't snore. Sugar."
"Yes, you do, sweetie. Sugar it is."
He walked into the kitchen and brought back a tray with scrambled eggs, toast and coffee. He set it down on the coffee table and opened the sugar bowl.
"One lump or two?"
"My head feels like two lumps, but just one for the coffee." She looked at her pants laying on the chair and then under the blanket. "Did you take advantage of me last night?
"No. Thought about it, but no. Should I have?"
"I would have rather been there with you." She struggled to right herself on the couch and reached for the coffee mug. She took a short sip and looked at the food. "I don't think I can eat anything just yet."
They sat in silence for a few awkward seconds. Adam thought about her ****. He didn't know what she was thinking about, but guessed it was just the pain in her head.
"Aspirin?"
"Yes, three." she said desperately. "How did you know?"
He rose to get the aspirin bottle from the bathroom.
"Experience. Marine training." As soon as he said it, he wished he hadn't. He didn't tell too many people about his military career, especially females. They usually couldn't look past the stigma to see the man. He was surprised when she didn't jump on it.
"Thank you," she said sincerely.
"It's just aspirin."
"No, thank you for being so nice to me."
