City Life, Country Home  by writerwannabe

City Life is people just a-pushin’ and a-shovin’

The Golden Rule is dead, no one thinks about the other

So, at night it feels good to get back to my Country Home

City Life is risky if you don’t know where you’re goin’

Bullets flyin’ wild and the dope trade’s growin’

But, I never lock up the doors to my Country Home

Come on, you can start a new life

Nothin’ to fear and the neighbors are tight

They’re not too close, not too far, Country Home

Come on, where the livin’ is nice

Steaks on the grill and the drinks are on ice

Hayrides in June, under the moon, Country Home

City Life is bars and pornographic pictures

City Life’s a ballgame and the Devil is the pitcher

But, he can’t throw a strike all the way to my Country Home

City Life is not a place to raise a big family

City Life will teach ‘em all the real bad habits

But, there’s plenty of room next to me in my Country Home

Come on, you can start a new life

Nothin’ to fear and the neighbors are tight

They’re not too close, not too far, Country Home

Come on, where the livin’ is nice

Steaks on the grill and the drinks are on ice

Hayrides in June, under the moon, Country Home

Nature’s high is the drug here (Gotta get back, can’t wait to get back)

Someday, I’ll never leave here…no

The Golden Rule is dead, no one thinks about the other

So, at night it feels good to get back to my Country Home
