The HAC kind of got me away from this contest. The last chapter I read was #4. By you keeping up with the storyline, also being gracious enough to post the information for those such as myself who got sidetracked speaks volumes about you WWB. This information may cause me to throw my hat back in.... |

Instead of doing chapters we should do Story frame work. Intro, beginning, middle, end, plot point one... climax. Even as far as being more obvious. Fight sequence, escape attempt. As long as people are voting for both story quality and relevance to the story framework. Just my two cents |

Yes, thank you. I think that this story has failed because not enough people have paid attention to important details; like story structure and plot. |

Oh man, I just discovered this posted "story" of yours, WW, and our minds must think alike. You might notice in chapter 7, I put essentially your list into the story: "Sleep's tendrils crumbled as my brain whirled with thoughts of the past week. The murders, the kidnapping, the dreams, and the commandments. I hadn't given much thought to God's Big Ten, as we called 'em at good old Saint Steve's, but I had studied hard to impress the nuns and knew them all by rote. Thou shalt not covet; Thou shalt not bear false witness; Thou shalt not steal; Thou shalt not commit adultery - these were the last four. Honor thy father and mother - number 5. Thou shall have no other gods before me - number 1. Was Paige guilty of violating any of these last 4? Graven images? Lord's name in vain? Remembering the sabbath? Or, I thought with some irony, Thou shalt not kill?" I was getting so confused, so I figured everyone else was too and it was a good time to remind readers where we were. Now you can check off "Remember the Sabbath" because Jimmy killed Barton with it. I actually thought it would be neat if chapters 8 and 9 used graven images, name in vain - and in chapter 10 a hero or heroine who dispatches the ultimate evildoer (whether Jimmy or another) could mutter the final one... But I'm out of this contest now. I hope you plan on writing another WW! |
