Rather than post this “comment” to the comment section of the next contest blog (as of this writing it hasn’t been posted), I submit this as a new story in order to get maximum exposure among my fellow mashers and contest participants. 

This is a public service provided by….uh…..me because I think we might be writing ourselves into a corner…lol. 

First, a summary of the murders as depicted in the 6 winning chapters: 

Chapter 1:  Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness – Nona

Chapter 2:  No one

Chapter 3:  None

Chapter 4:  Thou Shalt Not Covet – Amelia (two years earlier)                   

 Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother – Eliza

Chapter 5:  Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery – Unnamed couple in warehouse                  

Thou Shalt Not Steal – Unnamed Boss and Boy in warehouse                   

Thou Shalt Have No Other God’s Before Me – Father Preston (dreamt, not confirmed)

Chapter 6:  None 

So, there are four remaining commandments:  Worship Idols, Lord’s Name in Vain, Keep the Sabbath Holy and the ultimate, Thou Shalt Not Kill. 

There are three identified potential victims:  Paige (already in the cave), Methra (presumably captured and in the cave) and our heroine, Adara. 

Hmmm, everyone see where I’m going?  Not all of the potential victims need die, of course. Perhaps, not any of them, but the linkage victims to commandments is getting rather thin. 

It will be extremely difficult (I think) for our stellar killer “Silent Jim” (thanks Cornelius..;o)) to bring in any new victims.  

There are only 4 chapters remaining and one of those, the concluding chapter, will have to deal with Silent Jim.  

So, three chapters and Jim has his hands full with three potential victims.   

Hmmmm, now do you see? 

OK.  No sweat.  It’s probably just me and the rest of you have already figured a way out of the corner…lol…..I hope so!!
