Wonderful to see you on here and I hope posting here helps to remove the writer's block.

LOL...thanks,djinn. I figure if I can keep my promise to write a minimum one chapter a month, that'll help. Actually, just writing this little piece helped...;o).

Indie publishing through E-books, Kindle etc. is the next big thing for writers. I see you've got your novel on Amazon now. Did you find your way around the marketing? The book's good enough that it should be selling.

Alas, it's next to impossible to adequately find one's way around the marketing, MrLightening. You simply have to keep trying different avenues of approach.

I haven't done much as far as marketing over the past year. It requires a lot of time that I was investing in the second book. It sells, but the sales are directly related to how much time I spend on the Amazon forums, Goodreads, etc.

Still...self publishing is (in my opinion) the way to go. I'm confident that publication of the second book will give a boost to first book sales, which will lead to 2nd book sales...;o)

Good to see you here and sorry to hear about that nastiest of ailments - Writer's block. *Shudders* Blech!

Writing here will help. Getting back in touch with fellow writers on and off this site will help too. Hint hint ;)

As for the book, sometimes deadlines aren't very realistic, as much as we would like them to be. Life happens. Writing happens. Most people (many writers included) feel that what we do is linear - point A to point Z in a nice, neat, straight line. Nope. Nuh-uh. Not really, no. In my experience, writing is like scribbling over a dot to dot. Sometimes you have to go back to go forward to go back to go back to go forward to go up to go down to go diagonal.... *deep breath* and so on and so forth, until all the dots are eventually connected.

Something I learned the hard way - sometimes one has to let go of the "shoulds." I should be done. I should have gotten this scene perfect by now. I should write this in order. I should have my characters such and such, and (again) so on and so forth. (My favorite is "I should have my head examined." To this day, I've managed to ignore that particular should quite admirably.) Shoulds are writing-energy killers. They sap the inspiration right out of us. When one is busy worrying about where one should be, one can't focus on where one wants to be.

That said, Huzzah for your pledge to contribute once a month to the site! Good luck, happy writing, and it'll be nice to read your work again! :)

Sometimes reading helps

Writer's block is, at least for me more prevalent in these summery months. Burning the midnight oil is one remedy, but sleep rears its ugly head at some point and we must succumb to the Z gods. Good to see this up.

boy do i know how u feel. i finally wrote something... but i really gotta get back to working on my books and stop writing depressing poetry about how overly depressed i am. writers block makes me more depressed than writing about how depressed i feel. hopefully u got over it.

WWB!!! One of my faves! I think I am going to be on here more seeing as how the'Ancients' are continuing to submit!! Maybe one day, I can join the ranks!! :)
