…ducked into the plants and started home.
All the household could talk about was how beautiful the mysterious Princess was and how mysteriously she had ran off, leaving the Prince a starry eyed man.
Cinderella just patted the pocket of her dress knowing the other glass slipper there and that she was that mysterious Princess.
Two days went by when down the streets came the Prince and the Royal Duke. News traveled before them and it said that the Prince and Royal Duke was looking for the woman who belonged to the slipper. There was a royal order that all eligible women had to try it on. It was also rumored that the Prince had learned that know one had crossed the boarders of his realm, so the mysterious woman had to be one of his subjects.
Oh, what a rush the ladies of the house made to look their best.
Even Cinderella put on her Sunday best.
The Royal Duke entered the house and the ladies of the household tried on the glass slipper.
Even though a foot was the same size as the glass slipper, it still refused just any foot.
The Prince was disappointed with the results of the search,. He noticed Cinderella standing near the doorway and Cinderella asked him, “Your Majesty,” she said with a curtsey, “would you like a cool drink?”
“You! Oh I’m sorry, I thought you were, oh never mind. Have you tried on the slipper?” He asked.
“No, “ she half whispered, lowering her eyes.
“Every female tries it on. Let’s go in and do that,” he said taking her hand and leading her across the room half smiling. “Duke, please try the slipper on this woman next”, he told the Duke.
“Yes, your Majesty,” the Duke responded and motioned Cinderella to sit, the Duke slipped the slipper on her foot with ease.
Cinderella reached into the pocket of her dress and pulled out the mate of the slipper and slipped it on.
“Will you marry me, my dear?” the Prince asked on bent knee, taking her hand.
“Yes!” she sighed and then….
