Chapter 3: The Six Oracles
I was confused. My father had said the word 'Oracle' and now it was Mr Hurds turn to say that alien word. Just what that hell does it mean?
Mr Hurds seemed to have noticed my puzzled look.
He explained,' There is another world other than this world... And in that world, there are six seperated parts. Each holding a civilisation: Flames, Aquarius, Nature, Wind, Darkness and Light. Darkness and Light are the places where no one can go to unless they die. Darkness equals to hell and Light equals to heaven.' Pausing he continued,' I'm just naming the civilisation from how it looks like. Flames are where volcanoes and larva and creatures like the Inferno Visage lives. Aquarius is obviously underwater where creatures like the Merfolk lives. Nature are mainly forests, or jungles where some trees are alive and the notorious and poisonous Mandraic Tree is rooted. Wind is high up in the sky where their defences are strongest. Darkness and Light? I don't know because I've not died yet have I?'
'Erm...so Mr Hurds, this is true? I'm an Oracle? What is it?', I asked still thinking about the Inferno Visage.
'A son of an Oracle...', he corrected. 'You will become an Oracle after you are ready and properly trained. You will take over your father-'
'My father-how did he die?'
'He did not die my dear child but he just had to go back to our world to help out...', Mr Hurds muttered. 'but anyway, as I've said, you will take over your father's job in time to come. Now...Oracle, what is it? It is probably the most dangerous job ever and handled down from your ancester which means your entire family tree, the male is an Oracle or a substitude one. Each part of the world, now, has an orb. These orbs hold mystical powers... Another question which I thought you might ask... How did the orbs come about? Well, there are rumours about a powerful wizard named Getavoid Metavorge. He was the strongest and most powerful wizard in our world and the first to be able to learn the mystical powers of each civilisation. For example, the Wind civilisation specialises in healing and defence. The powers were so much that he had to forge one orb and six smaller orbs inside it. Each powers of each civilisation is stored in each of the one small orbs. Each day, people led armies to try and steal or win over the orb. As the orb as his weapon, he wiped out the armies with no difficulties. The orb gained its popularity and soon the Dark Lord or Hell Lord who owned hell or the darkness realm knew about it too. As the number of people die increases, the armies of hell increases too...'
He took in a gulp of air and continued,' The Dark Lord send trillions of his army to get hold of the orb. The Light King or Lord Of Spirits send a few hundred of his spirits to help Getavoid. The dark army swept past them, making the spirits die twice. Getavoid had no other choice as he knew the number of dark armies were too many for him to handle even with the orb, he painstakingly released the small orbs in the big one and teleported them to the other parts of the world. The dark commander threatened to kill him if he didn't tell where he teleported the orbs to but his life was already meaningless without his powers. Therefore, Getavoid spat at the commander. Furious, the commander brought his axe whistling down and severing Getavoid's head off its neck, ending his life. The Dark Lord was angry with the commander as without Getavoid, he wouldn't be able to find the orbs. The Dark Lord thought of killing him but as the commander had already died once, he can't die again! Therefore, the Dark Lord sent him to the fields of punishment where the worst tortures are held there. Soon, the entire world looked for the orbs and some fortunate people found them but used them to their advantage. The orbs were snatched from them and each orb was sent to each civilisation realm where the Oracles protect them at all costs.'
'But if so many died from fighting for the orb, at the very least, half of the billions dead would go to heaven right?', I blurted out.
'Zaharix, this isn't a 50-50 percent trade! It depends on the bad things or good things the dead did when they were once alive. After someone die, Zox, the fair weightran of hell and heaven would weigh your heart with a feather. If your heart is heavier than the feather, it meant alot of satisfaction it felt when ii did bad things. Thus, that guy goes to hell. If someone's heart is lighter than a feather, it means it is filled with emotions and happiness and even though done bad things, the gultiness is stored there too. Thus you go to heaven.'
'But-'
'Don't you get it? The people who died were trying to steal Getavoid's orb by force. The keyword is force. Thus, all of them goes to hell because of their greed...'
'So...my father is an Oracle?'
'Yes', he replied. 'He protected the Orb in the Flames region. Now there is a new war raging up too so obviously, your parents had to help...'
'What-'
'Your mum is a healer and it is not a war made by the Hell Lord again... The Hell Lord did not want to join in a war anymore as he is a god and he himself held the fields of punishment. He had more matters to attend to than this stupid 'wizard war' he so-called it...'
'What-'
'Look at the time now! We had been talking for almost three hours!', he interrupted. 'Now, Zaharix, no more questions and please promise me you will not tell anyone even your best friend, about this conversation?'
'I promise...', I said.
'Good boy! Now off you go!', he yelled, his hand shooing me away.
Please tell me the mistakes I've made as I'm only 13.
