The story so far:
“Are you okay.” he asked close to her ear, causing a shiver to course through her.
“I’m on diet.” She lied, desperate to change the subject before he got suspicious, “There is another collection, fresh from the print. It’s not even on display. I think you would like it.” She glanced at her assistant Salome who was walking over. “Sorry, I really must go, goodbye”
“I understand. Good bye?” he asked, turning up the wattage on his cajoling smile. “If you have any question contact me at the league headquarter. I’m in section 16. Here is my card.”
This was not what she wanted to hear. Elmira paled, Erick was in a position where he would eventually he’d find out about her baby. Thanks to good old D.N.A. database, it was going to be awkward for him if his bosses or his colleague found out before he did and it wasn’t even fair. For a moment she almost turns back and told him. She knew that the league was more like a small town where everyone knew everything. So she had a make a choice. On one hand, she wanted to keep the baby quite and a secret if it came out she’d be in a lot of trouble, on the other hand telling him was like opening a can of worms, something she had to admit she was not ready. It was not important; she was late for her doctor’s appointment.
When you have the super gene as many called it, you had to be extra conscious about what you do. The baby and you may not compatible and one wrong move you could have killed your child or get yourself killed.
