Suicide is the Proof of Life...4  by theusedani
Derek led me outside of the building and I looked around at the city. All of the buildings looked decayed and they were crumbling, but people still walked in and out like nothing was wrong. Speaking of people, there were so many of them. I couldn't even imagine how these people could hide themselves so well. I saw many of them staring at me as we walked past some of them whispered to themselves. Derek was still holding my hand and it must have looked strange because he was so obviously gay, what with the skirt and all, and we were walking like a typical couple.
"Here it is! My favorite place in the whole wide...Osdale!"
I laughed and looked up at the building. It was the biggest I had seen so far and looked equally as unstable, but it seemed like the people had at least tried to make the building pretty. Derek dragged me inside and it looked nothing like it did on the outside. It looked just like the mall back home. Derek led me to a store where there were tons of clothes hanging. It didn't seem like they had a certain store for one type of clothing. They just fit as much as they could into a store and if it didn't fit they made a new store. Derek looked through all of the racks picking out different things and soon he came back to me with a pile almost taller than himself. "Here! Try these on over there."
My eyes widened at the amount of clothes but I took them to the dressing room anyways.Out of all the clothes he picked I only kept about ten shirts, a skirt, and two pairs of pants.I think he just picked stuff for himself because I don't think I look like someone who wears that much leather. He pouted when I gave him back the pile, but then ran off mumbling something about 'more for me.'
I sat on a bench outside of the storeas Derek was trying the clothes.I was staring at the ground when I saw shoes in front of me. I looked up and found Leon staring at me, well more like glaring. 'Does he ever not glare?' I sort of gasped as he sat next to me.
"He's supposed to be shopping for you."
I sighed, "He was, but I'm not into leather. I just got a couple of shirts and stuff. I don't really want to be a bother."
He turned his head to me and glared for a second before he turned back to staring at his feet. "You're not what I expected the girls outside to be like."
"What do you mean?"
"I imagined them more...spoiled."
"Some of us are, but my family doesn't have enough money for me to be spoiled."
He nodded and then he sat back and exhaled loudly, "Do you know anything about the disease?"
I thought about it for a second, "Hmm...the thing I've noticed is that Derek randomly gets angry, but is nice after. Is that it? Getting angry all the time."
"Sort of. In the beginning we would get angry very rarely. Thats the first stage, but once you get to the second stage its harder to control you might hit someone who you love and not even know it. The final stage is just you being angry all the time, there is no calm moment and thats when it gets really dangerous. There was a rumor that some even go past the final stage and just go on a killing spree, but we've done our best to prevent it."
"So...what stage are you?"
"I'm nearly at the final stage and it sucks let me tell you. I haven't been this calm in a while. You're lucky I'm not kicking your **** right now."
"Wow, that made me feel so safe."
He started giggling uncontrollably after that and it kind of scared me.'Whats up with this guy?' He leaned over and pressed his face into my neck. I didn't move because I thought he might lash out at me again. He inhaled deeply and giggled again. I bit my lip and tried not to laugh,it tickled. He lifted his head and put his mouth to my ear, "You're cute."
Then he started giggling again and grabbed my shoulders as he laughed. I put my hand on his back and he twitched. Then he pulled away really fast and stood up.He cleared his throat,"Nice...umm...talk."
I watched him as he walked away quickly. I felt hands grip my shoulders and I jumped. "Hey what's wrong, babe?"
I looked up at Derek and noticed he was wearing one of the new things he bought. I sort of gaped at him, "You were going to buy me that?"
"Why do you want it? I really like it. It's a perfect fit."
"No, no. You can have it...it's just...do I look like someone who would wear that?"
He looked down at the short leather dress he was wearing then he looked up at me, "Not really. I must have been shopping for myself too."
I laughed and got up. He put his arm around my shoulder, "Come on, there are way more things I need to show you."
