INTERMISSION

 

(Megha looks at Aneetha)

 

Megha - (shouts to Aneetha) Mom! Can we go to the play area!

Aneetha - (angrily) No!

 

(Megha whines)

 

Aneetha - Shut up! We’ve only come to walk about. Not play like babies in the play area!

Mozaquir - (to Aneetha) Go on Aneetha! Let them go!

Aneetha - (looks at Mozaquir furiously) You think its safe enough too go to the play area alone?

Mozaquir - (thinks)…hmmm…no!

Aneetha - Then why ask you dumb brain!

Mozaquir - But they’re children! Let them go! How about if they’re supervised?

Aneetha - Are you willing to go with them?

Mozaquir - (tired) Nah I’m just too tired!

Aneetha - No! Your just lazy!

Mozaquir - But I’m not at the age to walk around! You should know its not good for my health.

Aneetha - (mimics) Its not good for my health. (stops mimicking) People your age need to move around to keep your hearts healthy!

Mozaquir - Look whose talking? If you don’t want to go then who will?

Mozaquir - What about you?

Aneetha - (coughs) Me? No I’m not well.

(coughs again) I can’t move around. My legs will break!

 

(Mozaquir laughs very loudly)

 

Mozaquir - That is absolute ****!

Aneetha - (shouts) No it is not!

Mozaquir - Don’t try fooling me!

 

(Aneetha sighs)

 

Megha - (shouts) Mum can we go?

Iqbal - (to Megha) Whose we? You mean you!

Megha - (to Iqbal) Ok only me then!

Imdad - (to Megha) No I think we all should go to the play area!

Iqbal - (to Imdad) Are you still a kid? I’m even more younger than you and you don’t see me wanting to go to the play area!

Imdad - (to Iqbal. Saying in a loud voice) You’re a baby! Babies are too young to go to the play area!

Iqbal - As if!

Megha - Imdad your wrong there!

Imdad - Ok babies are allowed and Iqbal is one of them!

Iqbal - Imdad did you know your just another plank!

Imdad - Shut it baby!

 

(Megha rolls her eyes, pulls herself up and walks towards Aneetha while Imdad and Iqbal are still arguing. Thahmin bobs her head down. She is finding the argument very annoying)
