Pregnancy cravings can do a number on a person. I normally eat fairly healthy - leafy greens and all that good stuff. I try to stay away from fats and most meats, preferring mainly chicken and fish. However, all that has changed.
I noticed early on, I had a definite craving for grilled cheese and tomato soup. In fact for the first two months of near constant nausea, that was the only thing that my stomach would accept. Well, that and hamburgers. Seems like every time we passed the golden arches, hunger pangs would strike. Thank goodness for the dollar menu...
I did learn to counter the nausea, unfortunately, it meant eating every couple hours. If my stomach didn't get too empty, I could usually get by without getting sick. I suppose the increase in waist is more likely from caloric intake than fetal growth, but oh well.
