You Learn Something New Every Day  by shadinah
I learned some valuable lessons today.
A: Be sure to check which burner is being turned on when trying to heat water for coffee.
B: Plastic is quite flammable, instead of melting as one might expect.
C: It's baking soda, not cornstarch that puts out a stove-top fire.
D: Cornstarch is surprisingly flammable as well.
E: Putting a pan over the burner is not enough to snuff out a fire, but is a good way to get one's hands burned.
F: A fire extinguisher should be used as a first resort instead of the last one.
G: Be sure to check smoke alarms to make sure they are operational.
H: There are much better ways to talk one's husband into cleaning the stove...
