The place I live in, now, isn’t the greatest place in the world, but at least Jimmy Smith is gone. Jimmy Smith died today and I'm so glad he's gone. Jimmy Smith lived in the room up above me and he liked basketball. He had a basketball in the room up above me and sometimes he'd bounce it all night long. I'd be laying in bed and he'd be playing with that basketball. Bounce! Bounce! Bounce! I'd be laying in bed and hear this thumping on the ceiling. Bounce! Bounce! I use to count. One time, while I was laying in bed playing with my moustache, I counted 429 bounces. Another time, I went upstairs to take his basketball away. The only problem being, Jimmy Smith was a big bastard and nobody takes Jimmy Smith's basketball away, but Jimmy Smith is gone now and I'm really glad.
Johnny Maldonado stabbed him 27 times in the chest, neck and temple. It happened in the Cafeteria. They handed Jimmy Smith his tray and Jimmy Smith must have thought something was wrong, because Jimmy Smith didn't eat. Jimmy Smith loves to eat, but the tray was missing something and Jimmy Smith couldn't eat. Jimmy Smith didn't have his slice of bread.
Johnny Maldonado was sitting at the table next to Jimmy Smith. He was sitting there with Viola Crail. Jimmy Smith walked over to the table and took the slice of Brick Oven White Bread right off of Johnny Maldonado's tray. Johnny flipped out.
He asked Jimmy what he thought he was doing and Jimmy didn't even answer him. He just took the slice of Brick Oven White Bread and went back to his table. Johnny Maldonado got out of his chair so fast, the chair flipped over backwards. Viola Crail screamed. Johnny grabbed the slice of bread off of Jimmy's tray and Jimmy tried to grab the slice back.
The slice broke.
They ruined a perfectly good slice of bread.
Jimmy was still in his chair when he tried to grab the slice back and Johnny grabbed him by the arm. He pulled Jimmy back. He pulled the whole chair back on it's hind legs. Jimmy flipped over. He flipped over and fell right back on his head. People started screaming and jumping up from their tables. Some of the residents started flinging food.
Johnny turned back towards his table and reached for a butter knife. Jimmy was climbing up off the floor. They both turned on each other and started fighting. Jimmy swung at Johnny and Johnny shoved the knife into his chest. He shoved it in deep. Jimmy started to scream. He was scared. He saw all this blood spurting out of his chest. He was real scared. I'll bet he never had a knife stuck in him before.
It wasn't stuck for long.
Jimmy spit at Johnny and that was it. Johnny was on him like a pack of Florida fleas to a Pittsburgh puppy. He just kept shoving that knife out in front of him and Jimmy kept trying to back away, but he didn't have any room. There was a table. He fell back over a table with a tray of food. He fell right into the tray of food and Johnny just kept right on stabbing. He'd probably still be stabbing the poor bastard, right now, if it weren't for the kitchen help.
They got these three guys working in the kitchen and they came hauling **** across the cafeteria floor. They pummeled Johnny. They were like the offensive line of a football team. They tackled his **** to the ground, but it was too late. Jimmy Smith was gone. Johnny Maldonado hit the jugular. There was blood shooting up all over Jimmy Smith and the table and Jimmy Smith was gone. He was dead gone.
I'm glad he's gone.
The only problem is, his basketball.
It’s still here.
