Bite Marks: Chapter One  by november_fall94

The man stared at his victim from across the street. She seemed lonely, in desperate need for some attention. Well, I can give her some attention if thats what she needs; I can give her so much more than just attention. He thought to himself as she tried to heave her heavy book bag over her shoulder. He watched as her long, curly brown hair fell in her face as her book bag fell again. She cursed under her breath then finally managed to get the book bag on to her back.

The man had been watching her for over a week now. He watched her go in and out of school; he watched her fight with her mom then go to her room and weep into her black pillow. He watched her when she went to her job, where it seemed that everyone there picked on her. Most likely, he had guessed, for her sense of style. She never did wear anything very attractive. Always wore a long sleeved shirt of boring colors and loose fitting jeans with holes in them. And most of the time it didn’t look like she even brushed out her hair. But her face was what drew her to him; she was pale, unlike most of the civilians here in San Diego. On her pale skin she wore a natural blush. This girl never wore make-up and quite honestly she didn’t need it. Her eye lashes were thick and dark and they curled so much that she didn’t need any kind of mascara, nor did she need eyeliner or eye shadow to help eventuated her gorgeous green eyes. It was her eyes that had first attracted the man. They were the color of the forest darkest evergreens and they seemed to plead for something.

Me, he thought, it is me she wants. It is me that she needs. It is me that will love her. Maybe he was right, that is, if he decides whether he wanted to kill her or not, and the ‘attack’ had to be at just the right moment.

The girl quickly ran across the street, closer to him, and started walking the opposite way. The man began to take a step, in order to follow her but was stopped by one of his friends. “Eh, Adrian,” he began in a think New York accent. Adrian spun around, “What is it Charlie?” He snarled in frustration. Charlie raised a brow but quickly shook off his friend’s anger.

“You forgot to pay for ya beer.”

Adrian clenched his jaw but walked back to the bar and slapped a few dollars onto the bar, “Keep the change.” He murmured turning around and walking to the door, “Eh, Adrian!” Charlie called after him again. Adrian ignored him and walked out of the bar. He normally wasn’t in such a bad mood; and he normally never was mean to his friend Charlie. Charlie was like a brother, but like most siblings, they can get frustrated and extremely annoying. And Adrian had something he needed to do and he didn’t want anyone to stop him. Today was the day.

---------------------------------------
The girl sighed as she entered the flower shop; she had just left school and had went home to have some lunch. And now she was here. She hated her job, she hated her life pretty much, but she never really allowed anyone to know that. She pulled her hair back into a tight ponytail then put her apron on and immediately begun her work. She was to sweep the floors then go around and wash all of the windows then water all of the plants.

She looked around the empty flower shop. Most of the other workers were still out having lunch. She was the only one here. She needed this job though, no matter how much she hated it. She needed to continue paying for college, and she wanted to save up money to buy an apartment. She didn’t want to stay at home with her mother. All her mother ever did was lay on the couch and get drunk. Her mother never did any cleaning and the girl was stuck with cleaning up the house.

She glanced upwards quickly when she heard a crash come from the front of the store. She ran to the front of the store only to see Justin, one of her co-workers, standing next to a broken flower pot, with soil strewn across the blue concrete floor. He looked up at her with a smile on his face and made a wobbly step towards her. He was drunk.

“Well, hey there Anna; funny seeing you here.” He slurred his words. Anna rolled her eyes. This was about the third time he has come back to work drunk. “And you’re drunk.” She mumbled turning around to go get the broom. Before she knew it Justin had grabbed her wrist and pulled him to her. He pressed her against his body, “Ah, Anna, ya know, that’s what I love aboutchya.” He gurgled. She pressed her hands against him, “Justin, you idiot; let me go!” She ordered he just shook his head and swayed back in forth. She clenched her jaw; he must be really drunk; he hates me! He wouldn’t be holding me like this. She thought still trying to pull away from him. “Aw, Anna, why are you trying to get away from me?” He wanted to know. Anna sighs and finally kicks him where he was most vulnerable. His hand went immediately from around her neck down to his crotch and fell to his knees. “Damn bitch.” He grumbles looking up at her. She rolls her eyes and takes off her apron and throws it at her feet then angrily walks out of the store.

She sighed and turned her mp3 player on and turned up the volume. I have got to get another job. She thought sadly looking back at the shop. She shook her head and continued walking down the street. The street was pretty much empty by now. Only a few people were now walking and they were all walking in the opposite direction.

Just as she was walking past a dark alleyway two hands shot out from the darkness and grabbed her. She opened her mouth to scream but her scream was muffled by one of the hands. The two hands pulled her into the alleyway and slammed her against the brick wall.

-------------------------------------

He smiled down at Anna. He could see the fear in her eyes. He licked his lips hungrily. Now was his chance. Was he going to bleed her dry, or make himself a mate?

------------------------------------

“Please, don’t.” Anna murmured. She was scared half to death and she didn’t know what this unseen figure was going to do. She stammered, “I-i-if what y-y-you want is m-m-money then go ahead, you can have it all.” She heard a deep chuckle. She felt someone begin to run her neck softly then hot breath on her cheek. She felt the person kiss her cheek and then trailed the kiss down to her corroded artery.

Then she heard him speak, “All I need is you.” Then she felt a sharp pain pierce her skin.
