You also nailed the original voice, Nash. Three chapters in and the character is intact. Thank you. I am looking forward to what a stroll outside of his world to Pink's will offer.

Agree with al. Let's not get too far ahead, though, al....he's still got close to six minutes before the brew is done and then...eating it. That's at least one, maybe two more chapters...lol.

Great job, nash!

This meal begs for saltine crackers.

The pacing and voice in this mash are right up your alley, so I'm not surprised in the least that you nailed both :) You also kept the amusing personification of the crockpot with the moan from the counter - and I love the hilarious new use for said appliance!

Wonder how the crockpot feels getting such an icy reception? Or is it happy just being used? Hmmm....

Well done, as always, Nash. I loved how you continued the subtle personification of the crockpot.

Great addition! I was surprised to learn he works at home on the internet. Nothing against that as a profession, mind you... But it didn't fit with the description of his risk-avoiding family or the fact that he leaves his house all day as stated in the first chapter.
Loved the line about the milk only being used as a moisturizer for grape nuts. As well as the whole distracted food dilemma.

I think it says a lot about your skills as a writer that you can take a character who is utterly boring and predictable as a person and make him a completely interesting character. It was a great idea by Al, and you keep the fascinating dullness right in line with that. I love it.
