The story so far:
Matt's heart sank. He tried to feel his way around through the caliginous room, hearing faint laughter as he progressed towards the door. As Matt reaches for the doorknob, a hand grabs his and a big black bag cloaks him from one darkness to another. He is picked up and carried onto an elevator that would seem to go on for eternity. Matt screamed and screamed at the top of his lungs but never for help. He just knew this couldn't be good, this was it, his life was over.
The elevator came to a screeching halt. His body dropped to the ground and he was uncovered. With tears pouring from his face and his eyes closed, he could hear even more laughter. He slowly lifted his head to see who could have committed such a crude act and not to his surprise it was the jocks from the football team.
This was not funny thought Matt. Something definitely needs to be done about this. Why don't you come join us at the frat house for a couple of beers and maybe even some ladies suggested one of the jocks. Matt's eyes brightened up and his confidence came rushing back within him. He thought to himself, "really" but that would sound so uncool, so he gathered himself and said I'll think about it. The jocks went on ahead to the party as Matt watched them fade off into the distance.
He rushed back to his dorm, changed his clothes and stoppped to look in the mirror saying to himself; Matt, this is your time to shine, if you don't do this now you will forever be a loser and I know you don't want to be a loser for the rest of your life. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly as he exited his room.
As he is walking down the hall he passes an elevator and remembers his clothes are still in the washer ready to be dried. Time isn't a factor tonight, he has time to go put his clothes in the dryer and then head out to the party. This time he will be on the lookout for jocks or any other supicious characters in the basement. He opens the elevator door and pushes the button labeled B for basement. He gets butterflies in his stomach in remembrance of his last encounter. The door flings open and he power walks to the laundry room. He lets out a sigh of relief, good! Just as I left it. He opens the door to the dryer and puts the wet clothes in. I want my clothes to smell fresh like when mom does it he says to himself. He goes to the other end of the room to the machine where the fabric softener sheets are and deposits 25 cents. It doesn't drop down, what's wrong with the machine! He deposits another 25 cents. Still nothing. Matt begins banging on the machine like some madman until it finally falls through. He puts his hand through the flap to retrieve it and just as abruptly, the lights went out.
