"Pushing Danger"

appreciating danger  by mnder_410
A man gets out of the car and comes into the diner. His muddy boots squarely come towards Max. All he can do is watch with aprehension as they got closer. The man slides into the seat across the table from him.  They make eye contact. Looking into the soul of another human is always scary because one wonders if they will see the goodness in humanity or the capacity for evil in humans.  "I want a good deal" The man mutters under his breath. "I want this guy hit, OK dude?"  Max just looks at the pretty mother and her son. How he would love to trade places with that boy now. He takes a deep breath and slowly lets it out..."It will cost $500. He'll never know. I'll make it quick, in and out. No witnesses, no hassle, no ****.""How do I know this will get done?" The man squints a warning across the table to Max who sweats even more."I've done this a million times- well enough to know how to take a life. It's a guarantee. There isn't even an if. It's only now and then death for that guy. No worries man" Max swallows his fear as he assures himself more than this man that he capable of this job. "Alright. I want it done tonight" as a grim smile squints the man's eyes even more. A deep hackle escapes him.Max knew something would go wrong tonight. He braced himself and hoped for the best but was prepared for the worst...
