A Warm Cloudy Sunday Ago  by mjm942

While thinking of rain

Gray Skies

Fixed their eyes

On a pleasantly soggy sidewalk

The sky became so heavy

That the clouds all did agree

To shower all the people

In the sterling silver streets

Heaven opened up

Things came falling down

Water jumped on those

Painting on a frown

City streets, protest the feats

Stomping towards perfection

But to their chagrin, the world may spin

In the opposite direction

Sidewalk cracks turn into rivers

Curbs commanding brown twig boats

Telling some to sink

Letting others float

To sink or float

To float or sink

Wish to be different?

You dream to think

Or do you think to dream

That dreamers may think

Up a brand new era

While blinkers wink?

A drop of water

   Splashing

Right between my shoes

Left me with weather

Dripping through the news
