One of the world’s tallest monolithic statues of Buddha stands on the rock of Gibraltar, in the middle of the lake.

There are facilities for boating, speed boats, motar boats, launch, water sports, etc.

Falaknuma palace, Birla Mandir, and Ramoji film city which is one of the largest film cities in the world are some others places of tourist interest in Hyderabad.

Mohammed quli Qutub shah of Qutub shah dynasty founded Hyderabad. He built Chraminar in 1591 A.D. to mark the end of the plague that had spread in Hyderabad.

The name Chraminar means that it is a structure with four minarets. The height of this monument is 58 meters. There are arches on the four sides. In between theses arches there are minarets on the four sides of the monument.

The Golconda fort is one of the famous forts of India. The name originates from the Telugu words Gollakonda meaning ` shepherd’s hill. It was originally a mud fort built during the kakatiyas period. It was passed to the bahamani dynasty and later to the qutb Shahis.

The first three qutb Shahis kings rebuilt Golconda, over a span of 62 years.

The fort is famous for its beauty, palaces, factories and ingenious water supply system. The famous fateh Rahben gun, one of the cannons used in the last siege of Golconda by Aurangzeb’s, is also displayed here.

Salarjung museum houses collections of antiques by Mir Yousuf Ali khan salar Jung III.

These are one of the biggest one-man collections in the world.
