EXAMINATION DAY
Have you ever been an invigilator in an examination hall? It is the most boring of all tasks a teacher goes through during an academic year. Just sitting hours on end looking at the faces cast down while hands move from left to right vomiting blue or black ink through pens held tightly between fingers. Some faces staring into nothing particular while searching for appropriate answer from the vaults meant for memory. Still some spaces stricken by anxiety in the memory of some past failure or anxiety infected from their parents misgivings about the future of their progeny.
Yet some sat as victims faulty learning methods that went hand in hand with their lack of discipline in studentship. Now they regret deeply.
Yet there were face sober ,calm, confident which confronted questions as challenges ,expected challenges I will say. As questions were not new to them, they were well familiar with them. They were well prepared.
I stood there categorizing students into different levels. And every year I see less and less number of students who belongs to that category.
