The Great Blessing  by kenny2

Homer and Estrella are a couple living a simple life in a subdivision called Progressive Village. Homer is a regular employee in an electronics company while Estrella is just a plain housewife. They have been happily married for 3 years but they don't have a child yet. Both are longing to have a child since the first day of their marriage.

Estrella became doubtful of herself so one day, she went secretly to a doctor to check why they still don't have a baby until now. After she has been examined, she was asked to go back after one day to check the laboratory results. "How was the result, doctor?" she asked.

"I'm sorry to say this, Estrella. You can't have a baby. You are barren."

Tears began falling on her cheeks as she felt like heaven and earth fell upon her. "How can I tell Homer? He's really longing to have a baby and he would be very disappointed to know this," she told herself.

She still looks shocked while walking towards the glass doors of the hospital when she suddenly saw her husband coming. She hid herself beside some group of people so that Homer will not notice her and looked at where he is going; indeed, he went inside. Homer passed the hallway without noticing her.

When she got home, she was really confused. She remembered Homer's face as she was telling him a lie yesterday.

"I knew it, he didn't believe my lies. But how did he know I was going to the hospital?" she asked herself...
