A Short Explanation  by jermccloud

Morgan looked up at the cops who had gotten out of their car to approach him.  His vison began to blur and fade away into darkness.

"Morgan?" a voice said behind him.  He turned to look but everything had gone black he could see nothing.

"What you're feeling is normal.."  the voice said.

"You show yourself damn it!" Morgan demanded.

The voice ignored him.  "You're very special Morgan, you have survide a century of time when no one else could.  The pain you're feeling are of your cells regenerating into an extra layer of protection.  You see Morgan.... you were designed to stay alive.  Use it, don't reject it."

"Wait, what do you mean I was the only one to survive, what the hell is going on!!!!  I need answers damn it!!"

The voice was gone and  in the flash of a heartbeat, Morgan's vision returned.  Time had seemed like it had frozen as the cops still had just gotten out of their cars.

"Hands up now!" One come said, his gun pointing toward the ground as he approached them.

Morgan, had done what the voice said and stopped fighting whatever was happening to him.  The pain had  almost seemed unbarable.  His entire body must have grown at least an inch, all within a second.

It almost wasn't even noticable to the cops, but the top botton of Morgan's search that popped off was enough to approach Morgan with caustion.

"Listen, I don't want any trouble, I don't know what the hell is going on."  Morgan said as he put out his hands to try and motion the cops to stop, but his hands started glowing and emitted a slight hum, that sounded like figure tips to a wine glass.

The cops looked at each other and back at Morgan and started firing.  Morgan could feel each bullet pounding into his chest but none had penitrated through his skin.  The glow grew and eventually covered his body.  The cops stopped firing and strained their eyes to see.  Then the light was gone, and so was Morgan, or so they thought.

Morgan watched silently as the cops talked on their radios and returned to their car.
