The Clearing Beyond the Woods...  by ireland_faerie

Alexandria woke up with a start.  As she pushed up on her arms she noticed that it was raining, not very hard, but steadily.  She must have been there for quite some time as her clothing was soaked through to the skin.  Not that she recognized the clothing she wore and she had no shoes to speak of.

The dress she wore was white, gauzy and cut low in the front and hugged her flat stomach before flaring out just below her waist.  It appeared to come to her ankles with slits on either side of the front of the dress that came clear up to the tops of her thighs.  She could tell by feel alone that she had nothing on under the dress and could see the visible signs as it was completely transparent from the rain.

Next she realized she wasn't even sure where she was.  As she looked around her she noticed that she was in a circular clearing surrounded by trees.  There were some woods, not far from where she lived, but since she had never gotten the chance to walk in them, she couldn't be certain that was where she was at.

As Alexandria made her way to her feet she turned around several times to take in the clearing.  There was a fire pit a few feet from where she had been laying and the ground looked as if there were washed out tracks from both dogs and people.

"But if there were other people here, why did they just leave me out here by myself?" Alexandria asked aloud.  "And just who else was here?"

Alexandria tried to remember the events of the day before, but when she did, a sharp pain pierced her head.  As she pressed the heal of her hand to her forehead, she couldn't help but wonder how she had lost a whole day and night. Or had she been here longer than she thought?  She couldn't be sure just how much time she had lost.

She made her way over to one of the stone benches that seemed to surround the clearing giving it it's circular appearance.  As she sat down she ran her hands over her arms, legs, and stomach to check for any wounds or bruising.  She had various scratches on her legs and feet, as well as bruising on her wrists.  It seemed as though her wrists were grabbed and held tightly.

"But why?" She asked. "Who did this to me and just what did they do?"  Alexandria felt a surge of panic as she realized darkness would be fast approaching.  It had already been overcast from the rain so she hadn't realized how close it was to nighttime again.

As quickly as the panic came it dissipated, replaced by something else.  Something that seemed to grow from inside Alexandria.  Everything was becoming clearer.  She could see well into the trees even though it was getting darker, her sense of smell seemed sharper and she could hear all the sounds of the woods off in the distance.

A noise from behind startled her.  She spun around fast and peered into the trees looking for any signs as to what caused the sound of breaking branches.  She knew it could be anything from a raccoon to a deer, but since she was alone with nothing to defend herself, she didn't want to take any chances.

After a few more minutes the noises stopped and the woods became silent once more.  Alexandria knew she couldn't stay there waiting for whatever was out there or whomever was there last night to come back.  She got to her feet and stretched and tested her muscles one more time.

She felt a strange pain on the inside of her right thigh.  As she propped her foot onto the bench and shifted her hip to better see, she felt a prickling sensation on the back of her neck. She tried to shake it off and bent to better inspect her thigh.  It was then that she saw the puncture wounds.  Four of them that were bright red, with additional teeth marks that were barely visible.

"This can't be happening....."Alexandria began.
