Discussion of "Jezzie's Quest part 5" by imadj

Was it a stretch to include the man, or did your imagination automatically figure he would be riding on the back (as a reader I mean). I know in my mind when I was writing it that I didn't make her aware of any rider, I thought perhaps he would stay behind to recon, then go to the rendevous or something.

Wow! I went back and re-read your chapter, and you're right. It does seem very clear now that he simply threw her onto the horse. Sorry about that! I guess in my mind, I figured that such a gallant knight wouldn't leave the lady's side with the prospect of danger close by. Maybe it was just my romantic side? I promise, next time, to read the preceding chapter more carefully before I let my own imagination take too much control!

I too also thought the knight was with her, seeing how you cut the only means of controlling the horse -its tether is usually the reins. It was a bit confusing there.
This line kind of made it seem childish though, as if you were searching for the right thing to say and just settle for this instead (you write better than that my friend), “Jezzie ain't in Kansas, dog" she thought, "Word." Oh, the things she thought of, even at times like this.” It implies that she as been through times like that before.
You might want to think about re-reading your chapters before you publish them. It will help you with your flow and rhythm. I hope I did not offend with my comment.
