You know I can’t resist a little gore, a little melodrama. For those who don’t know, the term Penny Dreadful was used for tawdry nineteenth century serial publications. Each installment cost a penny and the stories were less than lovely. Most were gothic tales of monsters and lust or were based on criminals of the time like Sweeny Todd and Jack the Ripper. I’d like to start three Dreadfuls, a romance, a crime thriller, and something with a classic monster (vampire, werewolf, swamp thing, etc.). Your challenge will be to bring them all into the modern era while maintaining the gothic tone. I encourage you to do a little research into the seedy world of gothic fiction and sign up on the forum for this horrid little project. Each storyline will be five chapters long so that means fifteen authors are needed. As always it’s first come first severed… uh served.
Yours Always,
-Honeygloom
