Day Nine: Extrabotanical or UGO  by honeygloom

I stood against the fence. The light was blinding, but through it I could see that it was taller than me. Not by much, maybe four or five inches, but it was green and spindly, like nothing I had ever seen before. It waved its many limbs furiously and trembled. I thought it might be trying to communicate, but the noise it made, like a whisper, a rustling... shaking my head I knew that I would never understand what it wanted from me. Run, I thought. Run. What else was  there to do? Round green, pupil-less eyes dangled from every limb, and there were so many limbs. For a brief moment I thought I might never escape, but then I realized, it looked sickly. Its lower limbs were yellow and limp. I thought of 'War of the Worlds'. Parasites, it must be sick from parasites I thought as my feet hit the dirt and I ran. I ran from that tall, green monster whispering at me from the garden.
