Day Twenty-Three: Is That Screaming  by honeygloom
A new dawn, glittery yellow stems, still contemplating killing them. Do they really suffer I wonder? I’ve heard vegans say they hear plants screaming. I always assumed they were suffering hunger induced hallucinations. My ears ring too when I skip meals. Red meat does have minerals and vitamins vital for brain function. The meaty flesh of tomatoes is called placenta. Think about that when you bite into one and feel its slimy and firm squish as your jaw’s vice grips tighten. We garden midwives can’t be too tender. A certain amount of suffering is inevitable in any life.
