On April 4th, 1954 George Van Tassel hosted the first annual Flying Saucer Convention at Giant Rock in southern California. An abductee himself, Van Tassel organized the conference for the confluence of all ideas extra terrestrial. One of Van Tassels greatest hopes was to raise enough money through donations to build his Integratron, a structure so marvelous that once finished, it would prove the existence of alien life. In 1959, an anonymous benefactor donated $40,000 and construction commenced. Van Tassel died before the completion of his Integratron. On February 23rd, 2000 Giant Rock split open.
