Venom.  by heidi_jo

Three beautiful words I've twisted to keep you holding on,

Keep telling you again and again, even though the feeling's gone.

Sometimes I think you notice, feel me shrinking from your touch

But somehow I can't let you go even though you're not enough.

Just can't let you go, leave you to fade into my past

So I let these lies spill like vodka into your glass

You shoot them back, searching for some kind of intoxicated truth

But unfocused eyes can't make much sense of this ruse

Carpet pattern imprinted on your face, passed out face down

How can I pretend to lift you up when really I put you on the ground?

Sometimes I dont get it, how you can believe in me so much

When somehow I can't let you go even though you're not enough

Just can't let you go, leave you to fade into my past

So I let these lies spill like vodka into your glass

You shoot them back, searching for some kind of intoxicated truth

But unfocused eyes can't make much sense of this ruse

This sweetness is like venom, and I can't stand to see your pain

But here I am, striking with my words again so things'll stay the same

Sometimes I get lost in the idea of you, and you become my crutch

So I just can't let you go even though you're not enough

Just can't let you go, leave you to fade into my past

So I let these lies spill like vodka into your glass

You shoot them back, searching for some kind of intoxicated truth

But unfocused eyes can't make much sense of this ruse
