The Trauma  by fifileigh

It is 2:00 a.m., and after weighing herself, Fiona walks  towards the front desk to go home. She stops at the front desk to get her car keys out of her tote bag. As she is looking through her tote bag, she suddenly feels lightheaded and faints.

BLACKOUT.

All of the sudden, Fiona is sitting on one of the chairs by the front desk, inside her gym. Two rude **** tell her she must go with them. Fiona replies, "I am just tired. I need to go home and sleep." But the dumbass ambulance drivers argue with her to come with them.

Fiona wakes up in ICU, a little drowsy. A woman comes towards her and asks her for a phone number of family or friends. She gives the woman her parents' phone number.

Family show up at her ICU room, the next day. Few friends also show up. But, although she acknowledges them, she feels too tired to chat. She chats with her brothers and sister for a while until they go home.

Two or three days pass, and as she is going to the bathroom, she realizes that she just got her period. I guess that fainting was due to PMS. WTF! HOW DID PMS GET ME INTO ICU?!? WHERE THE HELL WOULD THEY HAVE PUT ME IF I WAS ACTUALLY DYING?! She starts to wake up and feel better after her period starts. But, rather than releasing her and letting her go home, the idiots at the medical center decide to put her in another room. They send her downstairs to her own private room with private bathroom, and she wonders how long will this be as she lays on the uncomfortable bed and stares at the wall. She goes to the bathroom to brush her teeth, and as she looks in the mirror, she notices her face is very tired, like she hasn't slept in ten years. She decides not to look in the mirror again until she goes home.

In the next days, many different faces pop into her room, giving her many blood tests, blood pressure tests, mris and ct scans, with no end to it. Some of these people come inside her room to make up lies about her. Where are they getting this crap from? The tabloids? Or, is that the hospitals way of keeping their patients in longer in order to milk more money out of them? She is a celebrity and they know she has money. Or, maybe had, since she hasnt been working in a while.

In her boredom and aggravation, she decides to start marketing her book in the hospital. The next person who steps inside her room asks her about her career and she gives out links to her book promotion website. At least she is being productive.

They finally decide to let her go home. But, with one exception. They want someone to stay with her. Her parents finally find someone, a mental case friend of the family.  When will this horror end?

She relaxes in her condo with this annoying Mexican Indian who thinks she looks Irish. She tolerates two weeks of her crap until Carlotta finally leaves. Finally, she has peace of mind. She happily goes to her bed and relaxes. She sleeps better at home.

When she wakes up in the morning and goes to the bathroom, she notices her face looks relaxed and better than before. She knew that is all she needed. Why didn't these dumbasses listen and make her suffer for two weeks in the hospital?

But she wanders around in her condo, and feels a little void from where she had left off, four weeks before. She needs to continue with her life and go back to her normal life. But she doesn't know where to start from here. Everything seems like one big mess. She feel confused and lost.

After she eats her breakfast, she decides to go for a walk, since it is sunny outside. Something feels empty and different. She feels all alone, like something is missing. What happened to her life? She faints by accident and her whole life suddenly changes. What is she supposed to do from here?

She decides to return home and watch TV for a while. Then, she goes on her computer to check her email. She notices 1300 emails.  She clicks on some of them and then internet surfs. She checks on her profile pages, chats with some internet friends, and decides to relax in bed.
