"So, uh, what do you like to do?" Taylor asked me awkardly. I could tell that the scene from earlier today would cloud up our relationship, or whatever we had, for a while.
"Gymnastics. Look, Taylor, we went over this all at breakfast, didn't we?" I really didn't think out what I was saying. That was a problem I had.
"Yeah. I just don't know what to talk about. All I can think about it-" I cut him off.
"Yeah, I can tell," I didn't say it harshly. Kind of sullen, actually. "Just take me back to the hotel."
"No!" He answered way to quickly. I smiled. He obviously liked me. "I mean, lets go do something else. I know theres some sort of no-ticket concert goin' on somewhere downtown."
"Okay, that sounds....." I searched for the right word to say. "Cool." Cool? I was an idiot, once again.
Taylor led me outside the restaraunt (we only drank waters, and they were free) and to his Ford truck. It was white and in pretty good condition. I hopped in the passenger seat and he started driving.
We didn't talk much, we really didn't have anything to say to each other. Well I wanted to say something to him, but I knew I couldn't say it.
Once he parked in the grass I got out of the truck. I went over to his side of the truck, and to much of my surprise, laced my fingers into his. I smiled and he smiled back (crookedly! eep!).
I heard an o-k band playing on a stage. They were singing original songs, I was guessing. I had never heard them before. Yet again, I hadn't listened to the radio in awhile.
After the band was finished playing their songs a girl that looked exactly like Ke$ha came on stage. "That's Katie Bishop. She looks, and sounds just like Ke$ha." I could tell by the look on his face that he thought Katie was cool, but he really didn't like Ke$ha or her songs.
"Yeah, I think Ke$ha's alright, not great like Carrie Underwood though." We both laughed.
Katie sang "Tik Tok", "Your Love is My Drug", and "Take it Off". She was a good performer and Taylor hadn't been lying. That's when a slow song I didn't recognize came on.
"Would you like to dance?" Taylor asked me.
"Of course," I smiled and took his other hand.
He wasn't the greatest dancer, but neither was I. We spun round and round, and right when the song ended, Taylor bent down and kissed me.
