"A Cat Named History"

History Repeats Himself  by easywriter

One morning I received a call from Mr. Heston. I almost crawled to the phone. It took more strength to pick it up than to crawl, though. He started by apologizing, which really woke me up. I frowned. He explained that they made a mistake, and almost buried the living Mr. Taylor. I smiled to myself. Mr. Taylor always called himself a nuisance. Seems like he proved that alright. I was asked if I wanted to come back to my job. I really needed the money, with History eating it all up before I could spend it on myself. So I agreed. I stumbled to the kitechen to give History his breakfast, but he wasn't there. Now, here's the problem. He's always there. I calledout "HEY! Where are you, you ungrateful piece of intelligent fur?!" but my calls were hopeless. I actually began to worry. Now, I never worry about History. He's always around, even when I don't want him to be. Well I am getting late for work. So I threw on some clothes, and ran out the door.

I got into my car and hurriedly pushed the key into the ignition. Out of nowhere, History jumps on the hood of my truck. I was furious! I am running very late. I stepped on the gas as hard as I could, and suddenly turned left. I could hear the scraping of History's claws, and a screech. I then see History flying, his black tux and gloves and all. He is probably going to land in the pile of metallic junk . I heard a thud, and ran out of my car. I hover over the still body of History. Well, I know now that History repeats himself twice, before perishing away. I shook all over as I got into my car. I parked it in its usual place, and walked into the house. In the kitchen, I slowly walk up to the counter, and take out History's favorite dish. Then, suddenly, I feel a presence behind me. I slowly turn. "History?!"
