“You think I actually care about you?” Eduardo raised a skinny black eyebrow, taking a long, lazy drag off his clove.
Caasi stared at him, a look of hurt and confusion on her face. You betrayed me,” he continued slowly. “I gave you chance after chance, and you kept **** it up.”
She could swear the air in the room was growing colder, and the light from the wrought iron candleabra was growing dimmer. “I-I’m sorry,” was all Caasi could stammer out. A knot was forming in her throat. Eduardo’s face remained expressionless.
“That’s the second time a woman has used me. I trusted you…how very foolish of me.” He looked her straight in the eyes. She felt trapped, unable to more or even breathe in his piercing gaze. “I thought I was your friend…” Caasi whispered. “FRIEND?” He spat the word. “I have no friends.” He turned away from her. “Don’t think for a minute I will forget this insult. Pray you never see me again. I neither forgive, nor forget.” And with that, he and the room faded away to leave Caasi alone in a moonlit cemetary. Misty fog shrouded the tombstones and statues. She started shivering uncontrollably, then realised her black clothes were gone. Only the pale green cloak shielded her from the elements. She started to say the spell for warmth, only to realise that every word of Gaelic had been erased from her memory. Her panic increased when she realised the smoky quartz crystal had been taken from her, too. Her eyes narrowed.
“Jerk.” Now she had to stay in human form and face whatever was out here alone.
Alone. The reality of the word hit her like a tidal wave. Caasi sighed, then straightend her spine. ‘Might as well leave; there’s nothing left for me here,’she thought, starting to make her way out of the graveyard. Everything felt and looked different now. The once-comforting darkness now seemed foreboding. She thought she saw bright green, hungry eyes watching her in the shadows, and shuddered with the thought of what owned those eyes. A sudden, loud CRACK! of a fallen branch made her freeze in her tracks, and her heartbeat increased as she strained her eyes for the source of the noise. Nothing. The moon had disappeared behind a cloud, and Caasi had the feeling of being in a bad horror flick. She started running, not sure why, except for the feeling she was being toyed with.
‘Faster.’ The thought pounded in her head, as she heard whatever was out there start to chase her. She was running like mad, and it was getting hard to breathe. The thing was still behind her, and she could almost hear it breathing in her ear…in fact, a male voice spoke in Italian, startling her so much that she tripped and fell. “Caasi, wait!” A tall, lanky young man appeared from behind the trees, moonlight illuminating his red hair. Caasi’s eyes widened.
“Morgan?”
“yep. in the flesh…well kinda.” morgans features were startlng in the moonlight, almost like one of the skelital angels at his command. caasi was sure that morgan had been in the mech this whole time, but she couldnt be sure till she tested him. “if you really are morgan, then you should know all your skelital angels names and elements that they represent.” morgan looked at her funny but gave a deep sigh and began. “ill do you one better then that, ill even list off how i came to be there master. ok, first off is feuer, his specialty is fire and flame based attacks. i claimed ownership over him just a few seconds after i defeated the beast the first time, in a game of wits.” caasi had been wondering how the angels came to be in his service and by what means they were summoned.
“next up we have…” he paused for a moment while he tried to remember how he claimed ownership of the other six skelital angels. “oh yeah, now i remeber, next up is wasser, his element is water, and he can control all three aspects of it, gas, liquid, and solid. won him over after i beat the tar out of him in a fight. fun story that is.” caasi remebered the akelital angel with the one blue eye whose movements were fluid like water, as well as his attacks. “all right, thats only two, which means you still have five to go. so get to it!” morgan chuckled a bit as he started walking down one of the rows of the graves that surrounded him. “all right, all right… i get the point. erde, i love this one in particular for a very personal reason. his attacks and element are earth based, anything you can think that requires earth, his attacks can do it. eespecially the attacks he used against those giants way back when.” morgan yawned before continuing to particular grave that had scratches and chunks of stone ripped out from the middle. “he joined me of his own free will, i just told him about my mission in the dream dimension and he liked the sound of it and decided hed help out.”
caasi thought back to her mothers tales of the seven angels and the seven skelital angels that fought over the souls of the chosen ones. erde was a angel before he became corrupted, so out of repentence for his actions, he sealed himself into the ground, only to appear once every spring for five minutes to look upon the night sky and cry tears that formed the river over his lost comrades. so far erde was the only one who had volunteered his services and gave himself to morgan in servitude.
“next up would be licht and shwarzung.” morgan started to tear up at there mention, because out of all the angels, theres was a story he couldnt get over. “licht and shwarzung, there elements and attacks…are of both light and darkness, there abilities are based off over feuer, wasser and erdes combined. they have a special connection to me, not because of what i went through to gain ownership of them, no.. not because of that at all… licht and shwarzung are lovers, eternaly bound to each other through ancient and secretive incantations, of both light and darkness of the most extreme, for licht, he was was punished because of his dark history and was banished from his tribe, as was sharzung, only she was of a pure and noble dark sorcerers bloodline. she was banished because she helped out a orphan in his time of need. back then, to do such a thing when your bloodline was considered your lifeline, was unforgivable.”
caasi was startled to learn about such things, this would mean that all of his angels were at one time alive and well, but had been cursed to this kind of undeath. “so howed they meet?” she asked curiosly, only knowing the truth might be harder to handle then she could bare. “she was standing behind him, facing a street vender when licht was run through by a six foot sword, razor sharp. unfortunatley the knight rept pushing when he shouldve stopped, and in the process, killed shwarzung as well when he peirced his heart through hers, ever since then, theve been bound together by there shared blood and shared heart. half dark and scaly, half light and feathery. they couldnt help but fall in love in the after life.”
she felt a lump form in her throat from the story, but she still wasnt satified. “howed you win them?” morgan placed his hand in the hole that had been made in the gravestone, the moonlight bouncing off his glasses and making his green eyes glow in the night. “i didnt fight them, or challenge them in any way, but i made them a promise that i would get revenge on the knight who killed them both, and in return they both swore eternal servitude to me. i couldnt beleive that at the time i had five skelital angels in my power. it was unbeleivable even to me.”
she sat down as she watched his slender hands move up and down the stones surface, feeling the cracks and the varios time worn pock marks as if every thing had a certain kind of pulse to it that he alone could feel. “so how about the last two? what were they called?” she saw morgan look started and frightened all at once, like he was remebering a night error that he kept reliving over and over, even when he was awake.
he spoke the names with a sense that even the words carried the weight of a super massive black hole, and his soul would be sucked away if he said them too loudly. “das alpha… and das omega… the most terrifying, fearsome, disturbed, evil, mean, untrustworthy, back stabbing, deadly, poisonas, egotistical, and not to mention terrifyingly powerful angels in my arsenal? what can i say… they are the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, life and death itself. there power would make even the most evil of people wet themselves, go insane with fright, and die in half a second.” morgan paused for a second as he felt there energies begin to excite and shift, but he knew better then to fear something that had been in his absolute control for so many years. after a minute or so, they calmed down and remained still, but even when not summoned, the area arround morgan and caasi had been altered in such a way, it was as if the ground had fallen away to reveal an out stretched hand that had been carved from the very ground they stood on.
“das alpha and das omega were prisoners at a centumax prison, in solitary, i mean deep solitary, there only company was each other, there cell was located four thousand feet below another ten thousand feet of varios pipes big enough to let water and ground up food through. but there were very well taken care off, they had lights, telivion, internet, webcam tech, and varios other amenities to keep them happy except for the one thing they craved most, and even the most free form, detailed realistic sandbox games couldnt satisfy there carnal desires that had lied deep with in them. since alpha was a man and omega was a woman, and there wernt any other people around, were there most truest when having sexual relations, and even when she had kids, they often carved them up into peices and ate them raw. if it werent for the drainage pipe and toilet, i dont think they wouldve continued that very long.”
