Hello all! veteran member here. quick question.

I've been working on the same project for a number of years now and lately I've run into problems on how to keep the spark of interest going in writing it.

I solved this by having one of the MCs switching sides, as well as the usual side dish of all hell breaking loose and what not. But now I'm in new territory, and I don't know how to go about this.

The main premise of the project being that the MC is drawn into a war between Existence and Nonexistence, characterized by a door and a chasm to the respective terms.

With so many sup plots to keep track of, numerous story lines, and constantly changing backdrops, I'm constantly vexed as to how to wrap up the seventh chapter while at the same time, keeping things fresh.

I've been posting new parts every couple of days on story mash. since I'm trying to wrap up the sixth chapter in order to get started on the seventh and what not. I'll copy paste what I've got down thus far from a word pad excerpt I worked on previously.

Originally I was thinking that I'd go by how the letters were shown on Wikipedia, with the known letters being the lowest class, then the unused ones being a rank above those like a military, and final the other class letters being at the top.

Then I decided to see how many of each letter number there were. As per the place in the story where they are.... How best to put it..

In the sixth chapter, a fight breaks out between the Skeletal Angels and Twilight, a fusion of sorts who basically flambes everyone. When the chaos is over and done with, Twilight dies and separates into Alpha and Omega, who are in fact two of the thirty one Fragments of the Creation's Vortex, a tool that can undo the damage the Golden Strands have done.

So Morgan (in the story) has decided to send them off to gather the other fragments like them selves. I've already got that part down pat, its how I want to potray the other fragments thats frustrating.

I've come up with a few options on how to do this:

1. The fragments with 2 to 3 letters (Xi, Mu, Nu, Pi, Sho, Tau) be the stronger and the fragments with longer names be weaker based on the number of letters that make up their names.

2. Throw the fragments with the same first letter in the names together, almost like family ties and what not, and see where that leads.

3. Put a even number of each class of fragment into three factions and let them go at it. This and number 2 would be an interesting choice, but take the most time to get the ball rolling to the good part.

4. Have it be almost like a food chain kinda thing, where it wouldn't matter mow many characters are in the name, that if the stronger gets defeated by the weaker, then the winner gets the strength of the loser plus that of their defeated opponents.

There are just so many avenues I could go with this that it almost feels a little bit over whelming to me. It would really help if I could collaborate with some one on this, this way we could bounce ideas off of each other. The fragments themselves are sentient, but I haven't gotten beyond that point.

The book itself is going to be ten chapters long, and with nearly 6/10 of it completed, it only gives me four more chapters to get everything in order. I might add another ten chapters onto it, but my heads been buzzing with so many ideas for projects that I've literally been stunted productivity wise.

Would or anyone be interested in collaborating with me for this? I either want to make this a side story that I can add into the main bit of the story, since Alpha and Omega would be doing there thing while the main chunk of the cast would be doing theres.

Actually, I think that's the best choice! This way I could focus on getting the seventh chapter written with out having to worry about any constraints with my 30 part system. (Where I write a chapter in thirty parts, using the decimal point system if need be).

OK, I've got this awesome idea about using the letters in the Greek alphabet (31 of the little buggers in all) for characters in a book I'm writing, and I tried dividing them up based on how many letters were in their spelling (2 to 3, 4 to 5, 6 to 7), but, its uneven for me since I don't want it to be a unbalanced or what not.

Another thing was, well, should the group with the least about of characters be the strongest? Or should the characters with the smallest spelling be the strongest? Or should it just be a community thing? Its really irritating to me because usually I can pick these things up right off the bat.

another option I had was trying to figure out was where to actually include this arch into the actually story itself, or write it as a DIFFERENT entity although located with in the same story universe. To be honest, this really has me flustered, and I REALLY don't want another Infinite Web clone.

So what do you guys suggest?

very good visuals, love the angels and demons bit, the man made god was also a nice touch. although my main thought is with the date in particular, 2012.

isnt that the same date the aztecs predicted the end of the world on there lunar calender? correct me if im wrong.

to me, my mind instantly clicked into the old victorian mansions and victor hugo's "the hunch back of notre dame", very powerful stuff here.

just a few quick notes, first off, i loved how things just got worse and worse for tommy, loved it!

second off, your lack of commas in the apropriate areas left me questioning how i should read the rest. there was also a lack of question marks, but im just noting these few things.

but overall, i **** loved every sentence. everything just came alive to me, and it read like one of those detective novels too, so that was a major plus!

hey guys, i just wanted to thank you for all the hard work youve been doing to let you know that since we live in a friggin old mansion left to me by my dear old uncle... damned thing has literaly got fifty rooms and ten stories below the ground. two above, eight below.

anyways, i just wanted to elt you know that we might be getting two new house mates on the grounds thatll be lving at the guest cottage theyll be primarily helping get story ideas up and running. so it should be fun to see what kinds of things they have planned.

anyways, i was recently on the stories page of sm and i saw that our works has been hiccuped onto the first two pages. im not saying thats a bad thing, i am saying that maybe we need to cut back a little bit on the amount of songs we put up.

xdshadowscythe, i love what your doing with the clarv, very clever of you to split up the fifty souls like that, i personal love the three chinese warriors going at it in the field and cant wait to see what you come up with for that particular story line.

next up, is delmer. dud, i know youve only been with the team for a little while, but you really need to pick up the pace with creating your own stories. i love the additions to the chatpers and the fact that you put forsth all the hard work you do, but i want to see you create you own stuff. thats all.

so yeah, we all share the same ip adress but were different people with different personalities. what so wrong with that? last night i got the crap kicked out of me for getting so pissy about the payouts, and for your information, were getting a lot of hits on our stuff, mind you its just spread out.

ive got it setup, adding the first parts for each of the four colonies. this will be interesting.

to answer your question honey, only if you want to, ive tried my hand at first person writing and its a lot harder then writing third, so essential, what ever perspective you want to write from, your more then welcome to write in such. im just about to get started making the starter for it all.

i meant if the character, well cannon as in the fact theyre trapped in the metal sphere for the thousand years that they are and no one escapes from it. thats all.

i added a chapter a while ago and was thinking about continuing it myself if no one else was going to post anything.

hey, just thought i would shoot out an idea for a project i had in mind. anyways, the base line of the series is this:

200 souls were trapped in a metal sphere for 1000 years, and for 1000 years these souls have had to enure hardships from the very beginning. who was it that put them into the phere, what was the purpose, and most importantly of all, what are the destinies of the souls trapped inside?

the idea here is to make an intense, action packed, multi level, slightly ramontic, comedic, deep sotyline that will get better with each chapter added.

there are 200 souls with in the sphere, they can be what ever you want them to be, as long as it remains cannon, if you want them to be male or female, gay, lesbian, or straight, humaniod, animal, insectiod, robotic, undead, then do it, but remember, that whatever character you write, you must stick with it.

how does it sound to you guys? ill write the starting chapter to set up the back ground and how the scenery looks if you want.

i just wanted to know the limit of chapters that a person write per day? becuase i needed to get that straightened out? i was checking it out and i was able to post at certain times. also, is it time sensitive? or number of posts per day? last i checked i was able to post 3-4 chapters a day, and i think at one point, 6. could someone help meo ut here? id really be thankfull for your help.
