there is a river that courses through all consciousness

towards a sea of our collective lives

for many this movement is polluted and muddy

with bigotry, hatred and mire

disease and religion, regrets and shame

pornography, addictions, always passing the blame

hand over hand, against a blind tide

fist over fist, inflicting pain to survive

but the flow ceases for no one

waves will eventually dictate your fate

because this river has a function

to eradicate the human waste

there is a river that laps and bites and erodes

towards the ocean of our collective lives

for many this aggression is littered and confounding

with depression, racism and lies

ignorance and religion, dissapointment and ire

perversions, close-mindedness, living wanton desire

hand over hand, against a deaf tide

fist over fist, inflicting injustice to survive

but the ebb increases for no one

liquid lungs will eventually plunge your fate

because this river has an animus

to cleanse the palate for a clean slate

there is a body of water that collects all our souls

emptied into by this river of abasement

for many this destiny is fantasy not reality

thanks to medications, delusions and ascension

faith and religion, manipulations and grief

misunderstandings, preoccupations, self-serving beliefs

hand over hand, against an ordained tide

fist over fist, inflicting persecution to survive

but the succession diverts for no one

immersion will eventually break your drive

because this river has a design
