So glad you're enjoying the story! Sorry to stop it where I did, but I am doing my best to increase my tension-building abilities. (I've been criticised for it in the past.) I am planning to post Part 3 tonight or tomorrow.

More praise. Most of the conflict so far seems to exist merely in Eden's mind (and a little now with, Donnelly) and you've done a wonderful job of presenting that clearly. Ride on.

Another sensationally written chapter. I actually said, ‘Wow’ out loud when I finished and realized how quickly I had become completely absorbed into it and how disappointed I was that it was over. And then to discover that there is not a chapter three. Good grief.
For some reason I came to believe that J. Donnelly was actually the older fellow. I didn’t get the feel that it was the nephew. I suppose it could actually wind up being neither of them.
Anyway, I loved how you began the chapter from Donnelly’s POV also. Perfect.
I’m not entirely sure where this story would have gone…I think I saw you hint in a comment that it would be ‘erotica?’ I think it would be interesting to see how someone with your talent tackled that genre. I am not personally a huge fan of it, or romance for that matter, however if something is well written I will read it no matter where the story goes. I suspect this would be one I wouldn’t easily put down.
Hope to see more of Eden and J.Donnelly in the future. Until then I’m certainly going to devour the rest of your chapters.

Oh yea, I wanted to call out my favorite lines too because they totally made me smile:
‘By now, the lack of caffeine had her temples throbbing. That first sip brought a moan to her lips and a sharp look of disapproval from a pair of doddering old biddies.’

Thank you, DD! You give excellent comments. I still want to continue this story, but I'd put it away in favor of other projects. Now that there's some interest in it again, I'll work on it.

I thought about erotica for this chapter, but suspense could work as well. We shall see.

Nothing wrong with a little of both! Erotica, I feel, if written properly, can be a good mix with just about anything. Sort of like bacon. Or wine. Or a good spanking.
I think you owe it to your well-crafted characters to continue this. I look forward to it.
