TBH, this is a great opener. Sue is disturbed and disturbing. Hope you decide to continue with this. |

Hi JD. So good to see you here. I disagree with that reviewers assessment. The inclusion of a map doesn't mean a bad fantasy tale or a bad fantasy writer. To me, the only way to evaluate the fantasy story is reading the story itself. I will admit though, that I rarely look at a map if it is included in a story. I'll take note that there is one and if I want to reference it during or after the read, I will. But usually not. As for the other "appendix" items you listed, eh... I'm not crazy about them. I think you can (and should) find a way to include the pronunciation in the story. Same for terms exclusive to your world. However, successful author have done it. George R.R. Martin does it in his Game of Thrones series. (My suspicion is that it helps him keep characters and places organized, so it may help readers, too.) |

I'm smiling at this, Rico76sgirl. I'd love to write a story where the monster under the bed is the love interest. |

I'm glad you continued. So good to see a storyline take root again. Just means I have more places to jump in. |

Ha! WWB, you have been missed. I did not expect this outcome and I'm sure that's what you wanted. I like what you did with letting us know how the monster found Kate. I think it's fascinating how this story is extending it's tendrils into different tones. Quite an interesting hybrid. Hope it continues... |

Nash also has my contact info. I'd be interested in simpler communication as well. Do you use any social media? |

Paulsifer, Don't know about the "story" of this site. Maybe Nash can help with that when he rears his head again. Or Katrina. My suggestion to get a feel for what SM was is to go to the "Projects" tab and look under "Completed Projects". There's some great writing there. Also under "Projects" you'll find an Epic (The Medias Saga) and Around the World-- both unfinished. Feel free to add a chapter and peruse the comments. If I think of anything else, I'll post it here. |
