Jacob the Insomniac 2 by den
Jacob was never one to panic at serious matters. It was only the mundane, the ordinary that would lead to stress.
It was his basic human nature to survive that made him first yell out when the pushing and the straining didn't move the lid.
Scratching would be an action of that of a trapped cat or some other feral beast. When a man is trapped the same thing occurs.
After awhile Jacob began to concentrate on the only other thing that gave him sleep; thoughts of dying in his sleep. For him, thinking that he wouldn't have to face the world and be what everyone wanted him to be was like a great weight being lifted off of him. No life. No problems.
Suddenly, the entire ground began to shake. The bottom of the coffin began to creak and then crack and then shatter.
Jacob fell through the ground.
