caasi was both digusted by alpha and omegas past history but she wanted to learn more about the angels and how they came into morgans ownership. “please go on.” morgan was weating now, he hadnt told anyone about the history of the angels before, and yet he was comforted by the knowledge that he could tell at least someone in this slightly insnae dimension. “all right…”
he cleared his throat and took a deep breath and began again. “anyways, history aside, they are still the most dangerous the the skelital angels in my disposal. this is why i keep them heavily chained up and slighty farther inward then the rest of the angels. there attacks are the most disturbing of all, as i dont even know what there really capable of. which is kinda why i just let them do there thing as long as they come back to me… like they really have any choice.”
the grave yard was silent as the moon turned a blood red and started to melt away as the darkest energies shot out from morgans chest and snagged two grave stones on oppisite sides of morgan and tored them into nothing as if they were nothing then receded back into morgan as if they were a part of him. “that still doesnt answer my question of how they came into your ownership.” morgan looked at her blankly for a second before shrugging his shoulders. “there not really much to tell, i gained them the same way i gained feuer, i just beat them at there own game. but it was a difficult trial and i dont like talking about it at all. can we just go somewhere else now? these energies get a little unpredictable around things that are dead.”
the mech rose out of the ground in a different shape then it had from before. now it looked like mechanized zombie, with chunks of plating missing from varios parts of its frame and a eye missing, revealing a very bright light bulb. “well this certainly is amazing aint it? i tell you, i never get tired of this place. always changing things before our very eyes.” the chest opened up and two leather straps shot out, snagged morgan and caasi and pulled them inside with out so much as a sound. the inside of the cockpit had changed as well to suit its new exterior. the control scheme was the same, only the buttons and controls were now attached to a giant brain like thing. “i wonder where your friend went off to?” nordifet squeezed himself out between the two and looked at caasi with uncertainty. “im here and i hate this thing now, had to chase it through half the underside of the dimension, then when i find it, the stupid thing shoots me with a damned laser. hurt like hell, got it under control now. hey morgan, i heard a funny little rumour that theres a war going on betwen the rouge and the deom for some uncertain reason.”
morgan wasnt listening to nordifets report, he was only concentrating on piloting the zombified mech back to the western themed planet where he had some unresolved business to attend to with linheber ed and aneeh. “so what do you think?” nordifet asked with out really paying attention. “i think that i gotta get into that show that famos directors doing at the place we stayed at the night before.”
before the mech could leave the ground, skelital hands ripped from the grave stones surrounding them. “we cannot let you leave by order of the nightmare kings son resaec dazzle.” the hands flew off there arms from wich they were atached and changed into bats that shot lasers out of there eyes. “oh great. laser shooting bats.” morgan said to himself as the mech swated away fourteen bats with one hand.
the remaining hands shot off from there arms and transformed into bats that shot golfballs from there mouths and encircled the group as there assualt began. “this is nuts… we need a change of scenery fast!” caasi look upwards andwhispered something in gaelic before shutting her eyes and slamming both hands on the dash board, morgan watched with a slight sense of aw and respect as the gravestones transformed into trees and yellow polka dots on the trunks, the bats changed into floating acorns surrounded by bees which fell to the ground and grew into thick trunked redwoods. the dark and cloudy skies changed into sunny and rainbow filled while the arms that had been previosly sticking out of the ground changed into young saplings as a field grew out from underneath them and expanded rapidly outwards for miles all around. “you mind telling me what that was all about?” caasi asked slightly annoyed as she stared out the cockpit window at a random butterfly that happened to be passing by but was stopped when the zombie mech smashed it into the ground. “what are you talking about? as far as i could tell, we were meeting in a graveyard when a bunch of hand bats that shoot lasers attacked us.”
“no… not that…. the deom said he had news for you a while back, but you didnt bother to listen to what he was going to say, plus, you figured it all out on your own when we first met. so are you going to listen to his news or do i gotta change this place back into the graveyard?” morgan gulped nervosly at the thought of those bats shooting golfballs at his precios mech and decided to call nordafet out where he could see him clearly. “can we please get out of this thing? my butt hurts.” caasi couldnt help but giggle at morgans remark. a few minutes later, the zombie mech had decomposed into nothing more then framework and an engine. “ok so out with it… whats this news i shouldvel istened to? cause i dont want to go back to the graveyard, and i really dont like bats that can shoot lasers.”
nordafet shook his head at how unfocused morgan could be at times, but decided to procede none the less. “as i was saying before we got….where ever we are at the moment. the deom and the rouge are at war with each other, plus theres this really annoying prophecy about how two humans chosen by a weird little lottery are supposed to decide the fate of the dream dimension by battling it out in an old abandoned city like seeting…. yeah.. you didnt catch that part?” morgan still looked confused at whatever nordafet was trying to tell him and nordafet knew that the only way to get through to him, would be to spell it out for him. “in other words, the deom have chosen you to be there human. theo nly question remains now, is who the rouge are going to choose.”
morgan thought back a couple of months and remebered that he and sarah had fought when he was overcome by the beast with in him, now that it was out of his psyche and rampaging around the dream dimension, he had to check up on sarah and aneeh to make sure that they were ok. “im feeling kinda tired, im going to go lie down over there and take a nap.”
sarah yawned again, her brown eyes hidden by the length of her bangs as she lifted her heado ff of the desk in front of her. she looked up at her comatose friend and knew the reason why he was the way he was. ‘morgan… i hope your alright, where ever you are..’ she took a deep breathe and arched her back just enough so that a series of pops could be made by cracking her back. she hunched over again when aneeh arrived with another cup of coffee. “its been three weeks already, i think you should just call it quits on this guy sarah. you know how he got whenever he gets nervous. always that quirky bastards paranioa that got him into this, and now your waiting by the limp leftovers to see if he pops back out? i swear… sometimes your stranger then he ever was.” sarah looked up at her long time friend and tried remebering how she looked as a deom, but for some reason could remeber much. things had pretty much gone back to normal since the battle with the beast. kim and mike had resumed there normal schedules of work and class, socializing and the usual colledge life.
it seemed that kim had moved to solegna sol, and been working on getting her film career under way by doing experimental movies with a genios student director under the name of resaec dazzle. mike had moved on to other things nad had forgotten all about the wolf creatures and whatever he thought mightve happened to him. his sister kept the truth on the downlow by tellingh im it was just a bad dream, even though he could sense some thing deeper than what she was telling him. sarah stood up and stretched her arms, hoping to gain back some of the lost energy she couldnt seem to stand up with out. she took the coffee from aneeh and had a big gulp of it before placing the cup on a nearby tray. “every night, i think i hear him in his sleep calling out to me. its weird aneeh, really weird. i know that i have to go back somehow, someway and see if hes doing alright in the dream dimension. after all, i am the sarah della sogno dinistia right?”
aneeh couldnt imagine what could be worse, the fact that her friend was still clinging to hope that this man would wake up, or that she still clung to that patcheticl ittle title credion had given to her. “well, you take the rest of the day off and get some rest, ill watch over the big guy for you.” sarah was reluctant to leave aneeh alone with an unconios morgan because she knew that they didnt get along too well. “trust me, im not going to hurt him…much. maybe just a sock in the head every once in a while but thats about it.”
sarah laguhed a little bit then yawned, she had been watching over morgans body for three days and she desperatly needed a change of scenery. “well, let me know if anything happens or if he wakes up. actually, have him call me first thing. i dont care if hes the groggiest bastard in the ward, i want to talk to him.” aneeh nodded slowly before resuming her glaring at morgans head, hoping it would disapear. but it didnt, and she had nothing better to do and it was close to midnight when a nurse made her last rounds for the evening. “excuse me, but are you planning to spend then ight here?” “im watching over a friends friend. and yeah, ill be staying the night in this room if thats ok.” the nurse shrugged her shoulders and scuttled down the hall and disapeared around the corner leaving aneeh alone with the unconcios morgan.
“you know what? i should just leave you here! i mean what good are you anyway? all you ever did was just hang around the office annoying me with your stupid comments, and flirting with my friends?” she brushed aside a loose hair that had found its way into her line of sight. “i shouldve reported you when you first started causing trouble, and now look at you, your in a stupid coma for god knows what reason and sarahs gone home and i was supposed to get to work four hours ago, but no, i had to agree to sit here and watch over coma boy until the hired help comes back inthe morning all refreshed.” she paused to take a breath and checked the time, it had only been ten minutes since the nurse had left and morgan wasnt going anywhere in his current state so aneeh left the room to get some fresh air.
all of a sudden a man ran by and stole her wallet as she was pulling out a dollar to get a soda from the machine next to morgans room. it turned out to be her brother, the families blacksheep. howed he find out that she was here of all places? it didnt matter, all that mattered was getting her wallet and getting her revenge on him for what he did to her family. she darted over gurneys and lab equipment and accidently knocked over a passing security gaurd to get her hands on joshua. she caught up to him a while later and slammed into him with all her weight so that he landed face up on his back.
a fire burned in her eyes, locked onto the object of her hatred and rage. no longer settling for silence she told him how she felt, and in her words he felt how hurt she was. it was in this moment that the man looked deep into his own soul and realized she was right, he had wronged her and shamed the family name. a grievos deed repeated over and over, his words full of hate and sorrow for the tradgedy that had befallen them. his eyes darted to hers and locked on with a steady flow of thoughts of his own. he tried to voice his words properly but found that he could not. he tried to understand her point of view, he tried to look through her eyes once more as she told him of his misdeeds.
in those moments, her anger reached the pinnacle of it all. she wanted to stress the amount of damage he had done to her. how he affeced her life in a negitive fashion. he needed to understand how badly his words cut deep into her. she couldnt stand the sight of him any longer, no matter how hard he tried to get the reason out, it was pointless to try and argue on the subject anymore.
“i paid a dear price for what happened!” she started, “you dont think i wasnt affectd by this as well?” he retorted with an air of arrogance in his voice. “how could you? at the moment all you can think about is how much you dont trust me anymore, how much trouble ive caused for you and your friends.” aneeh was taken aback by this sudden out burst and was rendered speechless for a few moments, and in those few moments there was a deathly ill silence that grew and grew before she started out slowly. “you barely know what its like for me day after day. knowing that i lost a dear friend that i treasured beyond scope.” joshua could only try to defend himself against his own sister who was the agriest one of them all over what had happened all those years ago.
“i was depressed for the longest time after the attacks. i wanted to desperatley die that moment in time. yes i was angery when i wrote those things, those awful idiotic things. yes, i was resposible for it all.”joshua took a breath before taking a dollar out of her wallet as she watched him with revulsion, but still said nothing. “yes i did think of the damage that i did to you and her both. you think i dont realize that people who read my stuff go here? your dead **** wrong on that point.” aneeh couldnt handle it anymore, she launched herself at joshua and swung at his head as hard as she could. the hit connected but joshua still stood taller then her.
“ive realized that ive hurt you,” she didnt beleive him, she didnt want to beleive him at all. the place where her fist had connected on his face had swollen up, forming a black eye. “and ive tried and tried on numerous occasions to make up for what happened to you, when i heard the news that both you and sarah were afected by the incedent, i instantly regretted what i did, and hoped to god himself that things would cool down in a few weeks.” heena was sweeling with anger now as her memories of his crimes flooded her head like a tidepool overflowing. “and to my dissapoitnment they beleived what they wanted to beleive and ran off to tell there friends about what the angery man said this time around, about the misunderstandings, the truths he thought were real but were in fact lies.” aneeh hit him again and again, the blows almost too much for joshua to take, and yet, he still stood where he was and let her take out her frustration on him. she finally spoke, and her words were the finishing blows that finally knocked joshua to his feet.
“through time and time again, i have relived each horrifuying moment in an ever constant nightmare when i go to sleep. ive put it behind me, thinking it would slowly go away,” joshua got to his knees and coughed up blood onto the floor and spoke in choked tones. “i hear the hate in your voice right now, the anger and rage towards me. and you know what? its justified. its so justified that im not going to write stupid thins about you, or angery words anymore. you dont trust me?” aneeh kicked him in the stomach hard enough to answer his question. “NO! I DONT TRUST YOU AFTER WHAT HAPPENED!” joshua smiled faintly as his black eye was now cut and bleedding profusley. “heh heh. i dont expect you to.” aneeh was out raged at him laughing at her pain. “all i asked was a simple question,” she began again. “and in return you made me relive all those dreadful times all over again in an instant.”
he had to get those words out of his head and for that, he was truly sorry for what he did. as she finished talking, his attention return to what need to be done. “i guess…. i am a burden to everyone, even to myself at times…”
as josua got up, he limped away from his once loving sister and as he got farther and farther away he occasionaly looked back.
and in her eyes, he saw a fire that could scorch the world in the blink of an eye.
