Daniel looked at the bar. looked at the unleveled measures of drunken liquer bottles glaring against the bar lights. blues, greens, and reds sparkled in reflection in the mirror. another sparkle caught his eye. A girl sitting on the stool darted her eyes from side to side, looking nervously around. the bar was barren except for a few table on the far end with people who were unexpecting. When her nerves calmed after gaining tha confidence that no one was paying attention to her, she pulled out a test tube filled with a white creamy liquid and quickly dumped it into the fluorescent drink next to hers. Moments later a girl, about the same age as she was, sat next to her glanced at her watch and gulped the remainder of her glowing green drink. she lifted from the stool, hugged her friend and walked out. the sunlight instantly filled the dark bar. the light faded to a fine bright line and shut back into darkness as the door closed. the girl at the bar dropped her head into her hands. her body bobbing up and down, weeping. i followed her friend, from dark to bright sun. Her body had dropped to the ground. her legs bent and arms sprawled out on the gummy sidewalk. As daniel bent down for a better look he saw a stream of blood flowing from the side of the girls mouth. "someone call and ambulance." Daniel screamed out. He didn't own a cell phone. He barely had enough to pay his one beer happy hour tab.
