That was really well-told. It's an interesting take on time-travelling.

I added a 4th chapter to my "What Might Have Been" story.

I've got one up called: The Dance of Time. It's historical fiction about Anastasia Romanov. The story explores the possibility of her escape to England. This was supposed to be a prolouge, but I forgot to label it as such.

History/Drama would be different. I would do one surrounding the stories of Anastasia Romanov, who it was rumoured survived the murder of her family.

I've added to JD_Renaissance's Upon the Brink.

That's odd. Because everything I write lately ends up as romance. I try not to make it too mushy. I majored in history at university, and I find it interesting to look different circumstances and wonder: What if?
I suppose my dreaded genre would be fantasy- to come up with that one original idea that nobody else has had would be challenging.

A period piece- I'm intrigued.

Updated my own: What Might Have Been Chapter Chapter #3. After avoiding her family for a month Casey gets a late-night visit from her brother-in-law, and we find out a little more about his background, and their past relationship.

My inspiration comes other writers or my own past experiences. Often I too ask the question what if?

Sometimes the character comes first, and then the plot. It depends on the story's subject matter.
