Red roses (part 3)
Finally, the day of his departure arrives. She is waiting for him at the platform. He comes with a red rose. Its Valentine’s Day today and love is in the air. David was feeling short of words. He said “Helen, I don’t know whether your parents will ever accept me in your life, but today I honestly accept that I love you more than my life. I always thought that I am strong enough to never let this emotion overcome me, but today I realized the strength of love. I promise to give you a love filled life.” He kept on saying, unaware of the surrounding. He was very close to her and she could read his soul through his eyes. And his eyes only read ‘love you Helen!’. “ do you accept my love?” he asked. “yes, I do. And I will wait for you.” She replied.
It has been months since they last met, but the freshness of those cherished moments still lingers in her thoughts. Her room is flooded with his letters and cards. She receives 4-5 letters a week from him and replies even more. This made her mom suspicious. Once in her absence she decides to search her room. And she gets the proof without any effort. His letters were everywhere, on the table, inside the drawer and over the bed. In the evening, she was to have a surprise. Her dad enquired everything about him. It was of course a bitter truth for them, but knowing their daughter very well, they agreed to meet him.
