RAIN OUT - April 24  by alharris

Rain Out

Yesterday the sun was out

just like the day before

I was hopeful that the Weatherman

would grant us one day more

of sunny skies and gentle winds

so I could take my place

at throwing fastballs down the pipe

and change-ups in their face

But red skies in the morning

warned each sailor on the sea,

lifeguards on the empty beach,

young pitchers just like me

that hard work and preperation

will help us win the day

but we must stay in the rotation

for life is often rain-delayed
