This morning the black, plastic, square emitted no noise at all. The bright, red illuminated numbers still shone their magnificent numbers. The numbers that we as a culture have come to live by. The difference between the days of hearing the sound and not? When you wake up to the beep, you are under a time restricted day. You hear it, or like me, you don't. Your day continues on with deadlines to meet, places to be, appointments set, beginning with the little black box and ending with it as well. On the days, like today, where it stays quiet, allowing for uninterrupted slumber, you are not controlled by the clock at all. Making days like today an enjoyable bliss to take advantage of. Enjoy until the night you are once again ruled by the electronic device sitting on your dresser.
