Neighboring Enemies  by Syrena

"Hey, could we pause for a minute?" asked a little boy who was playing a game with his friend. She stopped running and turned. "Sure!" she said.  The boy walked over to a large hill and sat on the edge. "Come here, Creyta," said the boy, smiling. Creyta ran over  and sat by him. "Isn't sitting here alone great?"asked  Cryeta. The boy nodded. Creyta smiled.  "You know, I haven't told you something that I've wanted to tell you for a long time," said the boy. "What is it?" she asked. "I lo-," said the biy, being cut off by Creyta. "I see smoke coming from the village!" exclaimed Creyta. The boy looked at the village. The village was burning.

Creyta and the boy ran to the village, only to see their people lying dead on the ground.  "Who could've done this...," said Creyta. "Us," said someone behind the two. It was someone from their neighboring country. They were their enemies. "You little kids must die," Creyta stuggled to get out of his grip, but it was no use. "Creyta!" the boy yelled, trying to get the man to free Creyta, but he ended up being tied up along with Creyta.

The men set up a wooden cage and a catapult.  He locked Creyta and the boy in the cage. "Three, two, one. Fire!" said the man. Another person cut the strong on the catapult and the catapult began to function. The huge rock landed on the the cage, killing the two kids.
