A Rusty Rose  by Stormbird_57

We've all been there a time or two, maybe three

when a heart we love goes away and we grieve

So can you stay awhile to mend this broken heart

and don't you ever leave and don't you ever part

No, I gotta go and I don't know why

cause somethings pulling me baby, please don't cry.

But it's nothing new to us, we've all heard these lines

and wouldn't you say maybe three or four times

There comes a sharp point in each of our lives

being stabbed by love we think we're gonna die

There comes a time when we undoubtedly know

that we've all been handed a rusty rose.

A rusty rose laying in the dusty snow

from a broken vase with a yellow bow

A broken heart shattered in a dark room

where light once was there's only gloom.

When the right one comes along, if they ever do

will we ever truly know it as we sit there blue

Saying can I stay awhile to mend your broken heart

and I won't ever leave and I won't ever part

No, I'm gonna stay and I do know why

cause you're pulling me baby, please don't cry.
