Chapter 2


Powers Emerge

    Selene woke up and glanced beside her, demetri had his arms around her, smiling. She smiled and got out of bed, putting on a white shirt and blue pants, she walked outside, feeling the cool breeze against her skin. She jumped as she felt two strong arms wrap around her, she looked up and saw demetri, she smiled, he smiled back.” Good morning “ he said, husky a little.
    She giggled and touched his face, smiling. “ Good morning “ she said, he kissed her, then parted. He sighed as a pulse went through him, he put his shirt on, kissed her and disappeared. She sighed and went for a walk, it was cloudy and gloomy today, not many people were outside. It started to rain and she hid under a tree in the forest, she heard a twig snap and spun around.
    In front of her was fifteen demons, green and slimy, she backed up and ran, they chased her, she tripped and closed her eyes. The demons screamed and she opened her eyes, there was a man with angel wings in front of her, he had pointy teeth. “ Long time no see selene “ he said, sword in hand. He held out his hand and she grabbed it, confused. “ Who are you ?” She asked, confused more.
    He smiled and handed her a case, she grabbed it, he looked at her. “ You’ll remember when you touch your sword “ he said and charged at the demon’s, killing them all. “ Selene take the sword “ he said, looking at her, his wings glowing. She opened the case and gasped, it was a silver sword, with a red grip, a red jewel made from demons in the middle of the hilt.
    She grabbed it and huge white light exploded from it, she gasped as she closed her eyes, the man shielded his eyes too.  When the light disappeared, selene was wearing a kimono looking dress, it split at the legs, revealing part of her left leg, she had her hair still down, the sleeves went to her shoulders. Her eyes were glowing a bright blue, white angel wings out of her back as she gasped, eyes wide.
    The man smiled and took her hand, she blushed, he chuckled and bowed down. “ Welcome back selene, killer of demons “ he said, kissing her hand. She blushed more and he looked at her, she went back into her human form and put the sword back in her case, smiling. “ See y6ou around selene “ he said and disappeared, smiling.
    She walked toward her apartment and went to sleep, demetri came to her place an hour later, finding her asleep, wet. “ Selene, wake up “ he whispered, touching her shoulder, eyes worried. Selene opened her eyes and looked at him, he touched her cheek, she yawned. “ When did you get back ?” She asked, sitting up, shivering a little.
    He helped her out of bed and put her in the bathtub, smiling. “ A minute ago, you’re going to catch a cold if you don’t change “ he said, noticing her clothes dripping. She gasped and pushed him out of the bathroom, stripping and putting her pajama’s on.  She came out and he smiled at her, holding out his hand, she smiled and put her hand in his.
    He took her hand and pulled her into his chest, his other arm wrapping around her waist. “ Selene come with me for a second “ he whispered in her ear, kissing her, then parting. He took her outside, it was warm, he embraced her and they disappeared. She gasped as her eyes widened, they were i8n the underworld, it was pretty, crystals everywhere.
    He smiled and led her over a river, sitting down, she sat between his legs, his arms around her. “ It’s pretty here “ she whispered, amazed, eyes glowing a little. She looked across from here, over to two trees and a pulse went through her, demetri looked at her, worried. She fainted against him and he took her home, worried.
    She remembered something, if it was a vision, dream or a part of her past she didn’t know. She was standing between the two trees, wearing a white dress, her black hair up, earrings and a necklace. “ Where is he, he should have snuck out of the palace by now ?“ she wondered, looking at the palace, worried, hand on her heart.
    She heard laughing and turned around, her eyes widened as she gasped. “ Zen !” She said, shocked, backing up. Zen was her old lover, the king of the underworlds son, he had short, blonde hair and green eyes.  “ Selene, this isn’t what it looks like “ he said, getting off of the girl under him, clothes on.  Selene backed up as he reached for her, tears in her eyes, he sighed and touched her hand, she flinched. “ How could you !” She shouted, tears flying.
    He embraced her, he coughed up blood and looked at her, shock on his face. She had wings out of her back, wearing her kimono dress, a sword was in his stomach. “ Goodbye zen “ she whispered, got her sword out of him and stabbed him in his heart, tears down her face. She saw the girl and killed her too, suddenly fifteen demon guards showed up and she disappeared as they shot arrows at her.
    In the present, selene moaned and opened her eyes, demetri was asleep, gripping her hand tightly. She put her hand on his and smiled, he woke up and smiled back. “ Your awake “ he said, embracing her to him. She remembered her dream and sighed, embracing him back.” What’s wrong ?” He asked, worried, sensing her unrest and sadness.
    `She shook her head and embraced him tighter, closing her eyes. “ I don’t know if what I dreamt was a memory from my past or a vision of the future “ she thought, closing her eyes again. He looked at her, putting his hand on her cheek, worried. “ What is it, I can tell something is bugging you “ he said, his voice gentle.
    She leaned up and kissed him, his eyes widened as he gasped. “ Selene “ he thought, closing his eyes and kissing back. She wrapped her arms around his neck, he wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to him. “ If that was the future, I…I don’t want to lose him “ she thought, tears running down her face.
    A pulse went through her and a white light enveloped her, she gasped as her eyes widened, demetri’s eyes widened as he gasped too. She was being carried up, demetri gripped her hand tightly, but his grip was loosening. “ Se…selene !” He said, trying to pull her back to him. His grip loosened and her hand slipped from his, he reached for her, she did too. “ DEMETRI !” She shouted, being dragged up.
    He flew in the air after her, his demon wings bloody from a battle, she reached for his. “ SELENE !” He shouted, touched the tips of her fingers, she disappeared and he fell down to the ground, by an angel. “ Se….selene “He murmured, reaching in the air where she was at. He blacked out and one of his comrades took him to the underworld to heal him.
    An hour passed and selene woke up, turning to her side, she gasped as she sat up, looking around her. “ You’re finally awake selene “ someone said, she spun toward the door and gasped. It was the angel who had given her the sword, he was leaning against the door, smiling.  He was wearing a black kimono, sitting down beside her. “ Do you want to remember everything about your past ?” He asked, curious.
    She looked at him as her eyes widened, he touched her hand. “ Will I forget everything after I lost my memories ?” She asked, tears in her eyes. He wiped her tears away and smiled, shaking his head, she smiled. “ No you’ll remember everything “ he said. She looked at her hands and he stood up, waiting, she looked at him and nodded. “ I want to “ she said.
    He smiled and put his shirt down to his shoulder, sitting on the bed, she gripped her sword at her side. “ All you need to do is drink my blood “ he said, leaning his shoulder to her. She nodded and bit into his neck, he gasped as pain went through him, she drank a lot and withdrew, fainting. He set her on the bed and her angel wings came out, her sword disappearing in her hand, leaving the jewel.
    One hour passed and demetri woke up, he gasped and sat up, he was in the underworld. “ Don’t move you’re still wounded “ a woman said, he turned toward the doorway and saw his friend, Sol. She was wearing a black shirt and white pants, he ignored her and got out of bed, she pushed him back down. “ You love that human don’t you ?” She asked, smiling a little.
    His eyes widened as he gasped, he looked away, eyes squinting, he closed his eyes and nodded. “ Don’t worry I won’t tell the king, it’s our secret “ she said and fixed his bandage. He smiled and laid down, she smiled after she was done, walking away. “ Thanks sol “ he said, smiling. She stopped at the doorway and smiled, nodding, then disappeared.
    A pulse went through him and he looked at the door, the king came in with his son, zen. “ What happened to you, my best warrior ?” The king asked, stopping in front of him. Demetri chuckled lightly, the king did too, they looked at each other. “ I thought I was stronger than that demon, but I got wounded and then something else got me, I don’t know what it was, I killed the demon though “ demetri said, sitting up.
    The king pushed him back down, smiling, demeteri looked at him. “ You need to rest for a couple of days, don’t worry, we’ll have someone else take over your missions “ he said, standing up. His son walked out of the door, looking angry as usual, the king was walking out too. “ Um…king ?” Demetri asked, curious. The king stopped and looked at him, curious. “ Yes ?” He asked, walking toward demetri. Demetri sighed, closed his eyes and looked at the door. “ What happened to your son, he looks mad ?” Demetri asked, curious a little.
    The king sighed and looked at him, his eyes sad and worried, making sure his son was gone. “ He fell in love with a angel, he betrayed her, tried to make up and she stabbed him, he regrets it a lot “ he said and left. Demetri smiled and looked at the ceiling, sol came in, smiling, he looked at her. “ I found a potion that will heal your wounds in five minutes, so you can save your girl “ she said, smiling.
    He smiled and she put it on, they both gasped as it finished. “ Thank you sol, how can I thank you ?” He asked, grabbing her hand. She blushed and took her hand from his, smiling. “ You can save you girl “ she said, smiling at him. He nodded and left, she sighed and went back to work, smiling. “ Selene I’m coming !” He thought, determined, flying through the air.
