Agreed. The contest factor is awesome, but I think it takes away from the spirit of the site when people get so involved in trying to win that they forget to focus on writing. I've also experienced seeing a story of mine go from very highly rated to rock bottom in the course of a day, which seems fishy to me. I think if there were a way to see who had done the reading and the ranking, it might encourage more honesty in folks. Especially when someone in second or third place gives your 'competing' story 1 star? Not cool.

I like the flow of this one, thought i'd add to it. I love this place, too!

Because of the nature of the internet, anyone underage can access the site. I'd be in favor of a certain level of censorship if only to protect younger people who find the site. I like the idea of having logged in users being able to turn off filtering.
