The Burning River Episode 1: The Birth of Fire and Ice  by RockyTales

The train led to a large facility. It seemed like a large palace from the outside, but Jack knew not to be decived.

"This way Jack. Keep up with the rest of the family." Jack's dad had pushed him forward into the crowd of americans. Jack hads felt sad that just because all these people (Including himself) were being sent to a prison because of their Russian blood.

Jack was 15 years old, with dark ebony skin. He worked out much in his spare time, so he was a very strong boy for his age. He had hoped that his friend Sam had come to the prison too. He needed a friend at this dire time.

A man in a general costume stood on a pedestal and spoke into the mic infront of him. "Hello, you have been brought here to live in the prison. Now I want you to form two lines. One line of Women and children under the age of 15 and men older than 50. Another line of Men 15 to 50 years of age."

A chill felt down his spine. His father was 53, so he was the only person to be in the other line. Jack's mother and sisters all hugged him goodbye. "It wont be too long. We'll soon be together." His father kissed his forhead and patted his back and went into line. The man lead that group into the prison while the Men were still sitting in the other line.

Jack was pushed into the line of men and he desperetly looked for Sam. As he glanced at the long line of Men, he knew it was not gonna be easy to find his friend. The man who had announced the lines had also stood up to make another command.

"Now you all are going to be working here, we want you to stay quiet and work hard. No questions asked. Now you will be led to your part of the prison and find a room that you would like to stay in. Now go!"

2 soliders came and led the line to the prison. Jack started to shout his friends name until he could see someone running to him. The boy running to him was clearly his friend Sam. Jack smiled when he noticed his friend still looking alive and well. Sam was a little shorter than Jack and had very pale skin. He had silky blonde hair that waved when he ran in the wind.

"It's great to see you Sam." Jack hugged his best friend who happened to be the same age as himself. The friends reunion was crashed when a solider yelled at them to keep quiet.

"So do you know what we're gonna be doing?" Sam whispered to Jack.

"Work I guess. That's what the man said."

"Hey Jack, do you see that?" Sam was pointing to one of the windows that didnt have a lock. The rest of the windows did have locks so people wouldn't escape, but for some odd reason one didn't.

"Follow me, we're getting that room." Jack realized why Sam wanted that room. He wanted to escape. As the long line was led into the prison the men were allowed to chose their rooms. Sam nodded to his friend and they sprinted to the room with the unlocked window.

They sprinted with all their might until they made it to the room. Luckily there was no one else there. Jack sat down and grined at the window. "I know what your thinking Sam." Sam turned to face Jack and seemed very excited. "So are you gonna break outta this jail with me?"

As night decended upon the island, patrols were outside of every room so no one would escape that way. But Sam and Jack were prepared for this night. They were on the 2nd floor, so jumping out of the window wouldn't hurt them too bad. Jack jumped first and safelty landed on the soft grass. Sam soon followed.

The duo snuck past patrols until they could see the exit within their reach. Sam chuckled a little bit. "I can't believe this, it's too easy."

"Don't let your guard down Sam." As Jack said those words, a man came out of nowhere and punched Jack out cold. sam froze as the big buff man pounced on him. Sam was out cold within two seconds.

Jack woke up and found himself in a room made of ice.  Ice surrounded the walls and floor and he could feel the chills of the cold air. He swore it was at least -80 degrees. Sam was in the opposite position. He was in a room made of fire. the room was at least 180 degrees. Both friends sat in the rooms doing nothing, waiting to die...

Now at the year of 2050, 30 years since the incident where Jack and Sam died. They're bodies were left in the room, because no one had bothered to take them out. The prisons saved those rooms for people who'd try to escape. Two new workers at the camp found these two rooms one day on the job. For some reason when they came into each rooms, the room itself looked normal. The only abnormal thing about it was the burnt body of Sam and the frozen body of Jack.

"What do we do with these bodies?" One of the workers said.

"We could sell them?"

"No, why would we sell dead bodies."

Just then, Sam's body suddenly cured from the burns, and the ice that encased Jack had melted off. Bothe friends got up and stared at the petrified workers.

"What year is it?" Sam asked.

One of the workers fainted. The other catched him and answered "The year's 2050, and how did you both just come back too life?"

Jack and Same looked at each other and at the same time both had realized they had survived their executions. sam took his hand out and a fire had summoned in his hand, by his free will. Jack looked at his hand, and by his command it tured into a sharp ice shard.

The friends exchanged glances and ran out the door, unaware of what to do next...Stay tuned for Episode 2...
