I think that is for you to decide. What was in my mind at the start was a person with multiple personality disorder. The Demon and human angle didn't hit me till later. Either works I think.
But I am a Hemingway fan and believe the interpretation should be left open for the reader to decide. And thank you...

I am not sure where you were headed, and at first I was a little frustrated that you had written so little. Then I remembered that the true thrust of this website is to offer collaborations. So I continued on. I left you some wiggle room, you can follow my angle or take it back the way you were headed. So far so fun! I wondered like the rest why so much money for an encounter that was likely only to last the evening? But, what if he wanted something from her she was not so willing to part with. Something that to her is far more precious than intercourse or some weird fetish Henri might have? What if he wanted her most carefully guarded assets? What if?
